If AC moves to 5A they will compete for region and state championships. That program is as strong as it’s ever been. Davey has built that program with a culture of expecting to win and they don’t run from competition. They have over 100 students involved in the program right now.  Like them or not the Mavs are here to stay. If they do move to 5A East Tennessee will finally get the AC/OR matchup everyone wants to see with an amazing gate.

Finally? Im pretty sure they played in the early 2000s and 2010s. AC didn't fair well most years. I know their program is better overall than it was then, but same HC and AD/coacht mouth. They had to play a tougher schedule and were not running the table by any means

I think the Mavs would do fine in 5A and It would be challenging for any team to step up. As swipes said they pretty much have been playing 5A and 6A teams and specifically two of the big 5A teams Powell and West. And as Oak Ridge seen, Greeneville is pretty darn tough 4A. Then you throw in Betsy. Not sure 5A is in the future but I would have to know the whole state makeup, needs and requirements.

IMO My Nephew will be a challenge in the future for any defense. I am just not clear, only my opinion, of course, if he would be at AC 4 years. Just thinking what I would do if I thought my son could be a 4 or even possibly 5star QB. If it were me I would have to consider the whole picture. But when he is the coach's son, it's possible they can have the right OL and good fitting receiver's. But I would have to consider, can AC get good recognition Nationally if I think my son should be a D1. That's a big jump but right now he has some good national ratings. As with most QBs, height will make a difference. Just have to wait and see his height. IMO, I think that's a big game changer for most 4 and 5 star recruiting.

I hope Anderson County does very well this year, and I’m sure they will. I hope the team stays healthy, especially the young lads. I'm not sure if anybody is keeping track, but the Anderson County youth program has a quarterback who already has a major SEC offer. The kid is an absolute baller! If Anderson County can keep him—considering that Catholic already has their quarterback and Alcoa doesn’t seem to need another one—then yes, the Mavericks should have a bright future ahead. I haven’t seen many people talking about it, but then again, I don’t be looking very hard. It seems like he’s flying under the radar.

Been waiting on ol Hickory to give updates. I have a hunch AC will be pretty darn good this year, that's just a hunch. Lol Remember you heard it here, first. Lol

We could use JD here in Seattle at O'Dea Highschool. Lol There's alot ground to cover for JD, of course I am his #1 fan. Highschool football has a lot of variables, ups and downs. But I am confident he has the skills. He just needs to find the perfect fit.

I assume you are talking about the coaches son? He got a twitter offer from Lane. If you know anything about HS football you know that is not a committable offer

Hog wash he can commit. If you know anything that’s what they told Hensley who moved to Norris.

Still pretty impressive that the SEC coach even decided to look at the quarterback, nonetheless to have a private conversation with him.

    • Honestly,  I hope "they are just another person that walked the halls" even in season.  Schools that are doing anything to make athletes feel more important than other students are doing society and those athletes a disservice.  You've revealed your very flawed world view.  Best of luck.
    • the discipline issues haven’t been fixed which worries me going into tougher games
    • Story time with uncle Crow! The story of how Oneida came to be a “mini UT” is interesting and not widely know. I will give some highlights and also give the disclaimer that I will probably miss a few details or possibly just flat out get something wrong but the broad strokes as I’ve been told are this. Back in the day the Oneida colors were blue, yellow and white but the equipment was quite worn and needed replacing. Like a lot of schools in the 50’s (I believe that’s the correct time period) money wasn’t readily available. As luck would have it the Oneida coach was a recent former UT player/graduate and still was connected to the university some way. Lots of details being left out but long story short there was a load of old equipment that found its way up here to supply the Oneida program. Of course the catch was obviously the colors didn’t match so the colors were changed to orange and white and many of the Oneida traditions that are still in place today were started as a tip of the hat for their assistance and are either a version of or in some cases a direct copy of the university’s traditions.  To quote Mike Rowe, Anyway, that’s the way I heard it.
    • I keep hearing conflicting reports.  Did Polk's qb get tossed for targeting or did it get reversed?  Will have to miss the first half this week?
