Fri Sep 6th Results

Cloudland 50 Hancock 6

North Green 24 Jellico 20

Twin Springs VA 39 Unaka 20

Cosby 26 Union County 20

Fri Sep 13th Games

Cosby vs Unaka: The Eagles and Rangers get their first taste of Region action. The Rangers have dominated the Eagles in the last few matchups in this series (3-0). Will the Eagles get some revenge or will the Rangers continue their dominance and pick up their first win of the season?

North Greene at Cumberland Gap: The huskies dealt the fatal blow in the waning moments of their visit to Jellico. Can they have another successful road trip and capitalize on the struggling Panthers or will the Panthers give the home fans and new HC something to roar about at home?

Cloudland vs Johnson County: It may be a role reversal from just a week ago as the Longhorns visit Roan Mountain. They had their way with Cloudland's Carter county neighbor Hampton and will be looking to knock off 2 county teams in 3 weeks. But knowing anything about the landers they will do their best to make you earn anything in their mountain fortress.

Hancock at Claiborne: Lots of teams feel like their schedule is a buzzsaw and Hancock must be one of those teams. After two very physical teams back to back it keeps coming as the Indians will be on the road to Claiborne looking for anything positive.

Cosby should win by 2 scores.  NG will blow out Cumberland Gap.  Cland will lose by at least 3 scores to jc.  Claiborne should blow out Hancock

Unaka is an interesting team to me because they have scored a lot but gave up more and I wonder what they will look like if the offense gets shut down

I thought NG would score more than they did against Jellico it'll be interesting to see how they do against Gap

Johnson County is just beating people to death think it won't be bad at first but as the game goes on Cloudland will get wore down

Hancock is fighting an uphill battle every week Cloudland handled them exactly how I expected

NG had two or three would be TD’s called back and dropped another one. Could have easily been 50+ points but didn’t work out that way. I’m sure Gap thinks they can win this week. Will be interesting to see how they respond. Cosby is riding high right now and if they’re actual contenders in the region then they should blow out Unaka.

They should blow them out.  Unaka's d couldn't stop a nose bleed.  NG will handle the gap.  NG and Cosby will be a fun game to watch.  Hopefully we can stay healthy after jc and Hampton.  We will have definitely played the more physical schedule going into region play

But that's just how the nonconference is for y'all mountain boys you just go right down the road and rough each other up

Hampton is like fighting our big brother.  They do the same thing we do.  Line it up and come at ya.  JC is more balanced this year.  They have faster athletes than we do and they're physical enough to stop the run.  It's not a good matchup for us.  We might get blown out really bad but I'll be encouraged if it's a 3 score game

Well that's just one of those games that you gotta do what you can, take your lumps, and avoid injury

Cosby looks improved, wouldn’t be surprised to see a score similar to this past week, Unaka will get in the end zone a few times but probably will struggle to get stops.

North Greene will handle CG without much issue I suspect.

Johnson County wins big.

Claiborne is struggling but they will find success against Hancock.

Who in the region do you see you guys winning against and where do you think you all will finish?

If NG had scores called back against Jellico like someone said they could have a big day Johnson County is on the war path just killing teams and after suffering Johnson County Claiborne will probably take it out on Hancock.

Hancock should be a win, and possibly could just out score Jellico with that game being at home. If North Greene wants to get into a passing shoot out with us we could compete  but I think they are better overall. I wouldn’t count on anything outside of beating Hancock though. The line on both sides of the ball for Unaka is very young and without experience.  I believe Bennett even said in an interview they were teaching kids on the line how to put on pads this summer. Cloudland is a nightmare matchup, a team that can pound the ball and control possession. Got some good athletes and kids working hard, but it’s hard to scheme around not being able to stop the run.

Luckily there will be some time to grow before the Hancock NG matchups and having some of those  competitive region games at home is always a big boost
