Bolivar Central @ Dyersburg

Recommended Posts

Bolivar pulled a mild upset last week by defeating Ripley 38-21. This week, however, they have to travel to Dyersburg to meet an improving young  Trojan squad. Then, the following week Bolivar must visit Covington. I realize that Bolivar has changed coaches and appears to have improved versus last year. These two games will give them a chance to see how they measure up to these two established teams.

Massey predicts a Dyersburg win by the score of 43-13. How do y’all see it?

D'burg will see a different attitude from Bolivar than usual. There's only so much a coach can do in a limited amount of time when there's a completely different system, both offensively and defensively to learn, but Bolivar will unload off the bus thinking they're going to win this game. If the Trojans don't change that early, they could be in for a battle. Dyersburg should win, but the Dyersburg kids know this too and could be expecting the Bolivar of old. Not ready to predict an upset yet, but the freshman QB better not get the jitters and put the ball on the ground or up for grabs.

Hope the link works...it will explain a lot about the Tigers' newfound confidence and success.

I don't know if I would consider the Bolivar victory over Ripley a mild upset, being it's their first ever win over the Tigers in program history. Y'all might want to go ahead and get on that B train before tonight's kickoff. Massey may have bumped his head, or maybe just skipped this week's film session. Bolivar wins the turnover battle and throws for 200, outlasting the "young" Trojans, 36-28.

I have to say that I have not seen the 2024 version of the Bolivar team, but I did see Dyersburg up close and personal last week. If Bolivar is able to go to Dyersburg and come out with a win, their coach will be a candidate for coach of the year in this Region.

I will be watching this result with interest.
