I don't know if I would consider the Bolivar victory over Ripley a mild upset, being it's their first ever win over the Tigers in program history. Y'all might want to go ahead and get on that B train before tonight's kickoff. Massey may have bumped his head, or maybe just skipped this week's film session. Bolivar wins the turnover battle and throws for 200, outlasting the "young" Trojans, 36-28.

One statement in your post aroused my curiosity. “I don't know if I would consider the Bolivar victory over Ripley a mild upset, being it's their first ever win over the Tigers in program history.

After a little research, it appears the Bolivar Tigers have defeated the Ripley Tigers eight times since 1983. I did not go any further back than 1983.

1983 – Bolivar 28, Ripley 0
1984 – Bolivar 3, Ripley 0
1988 – Bolivar 31, Ripley 0
1997 – Bolivar 26, Ripley  0
1998 – Bolivar 28, Ripley 8
1999 – Bolivar 27, Ripley 0
2007 – Bolivar 13, Ripley 7
2024 – Bolivar 38, Ripley 21

Looking at tonight’s game, I would give the edge to the Trojans.  At this point in the season, Dyersburg has played a tougher schedule.  The Trojans’ opponents have an 8 – 1 record.  Bolivar’s opponents are currently 0 – 6.

Yes, Dyersburg has lost 2 games, but both losses were to undefeated teams.  Undefeated Bolivar owns victories over 2 winless teams.

That said, I am very interested in seeing the outcome of this game.  Will the B train derail or prevail?

Thank you for the multiple corrections.

Massey picked Dyersburg by 30 points. I saw that the actual final was 38-0. Massey had a pretty good feel for the result after all.

    • South Gibson drags you to the deep end and makes you like it. Tough group that communicates and really seems to love competing.  Union City will be improved but don't know how they handle nights were Moss doesn't go off.  South Side is fast and athletic but I don't think they're as good as last year.  Westview girls will be better later in the season because they are depending on folks that haven't done it yet.  Westview may lose a district game but they'll be the 1 seed over UC.  South Gibson beats Dyersburg for that district. South Side runs Jackson again.
