Wheeler won the Arby's Classic like I predicted. That team is loaded. They were the best team by far this year. The talent they have in unbeleivable. All the teams from TN did a good job winning tough games and playing hard and really showcasing some of the talent TN has. Can't wait for next year's Arby's!

Does anybody know how Humphrey is? I heard he's in the hospital and that sounds serious.

I am sorry i have to say this, but unless you were at the game you have no idea what really went on. I didn't leave at half time, but stayed for the entire thing. Whoever wrote that stupid messege from William Blount needs to get his head examined. Maryville won the 2nd half 36-31 over the 18th ranked team in the nation without Lee, and mr. governor is saying they are a mediocre team who probably would lose to Heritage. I could care less whether you think you are knocking them or not, because you are. No doubt about it LEE CAN PLAY BALL. But, Maryville proved in the 2nd half that they can beat any team in the state without him.

Well lets see ... where do I start?

To Rebelsman ... You'd be amazed at how much and how long I've watched not just Lee but all of Maryville's boys play.

To RollTide & Ballonu ..."contend for region and maybe substate without Lee" and "can beat any team in the state without Lee" ... whatever you guys are smokin', I want some.

To Ballonu ... when you mentioned my "stupid messege" I wrote -- I think that's spelled "message." But then again, I AM the stupid one. Also, read just a little closer my friend before you fire off your harsh replies .. I DID NOT say the Heritage would probably beat Maryville (without Lee) -- I said they (MHS) would not be a heavy favorite.

To Surf4life ... man, call me an "idiot" ... that's ok, I don't know you and you don't know me. BTW, what is Science Hill's record against Maryville and William Blount this season?

And finally, to all ... Maryville really did play a great second half (without Lee) against Wheeler. I'm assuming from the way you all talk about it, Wheeler left their starting team in the entire game and that their coach didn't sub freely in the second half so that his starters could be resting for the next day?

This is fun. I don't need to call anyone an idiot or call their "messeges"[sic] stupid to state my views and opinions.

WHeeler did not do any wholesale substituting. They ended up having to call a couple of quick timeouts to regroup in the second half. Maryville played very well in the second half. They just had so little time to prepare mentally without Lee. I would have liked to have seen Lee in that lineup. I have a great deal of respect for the Maryville team and coaching staff, because thay could of quit. Thay came out and played very hard in the second half. Thay played understandably scared in the first half. They are a lot better than they played in the first half even without LEE. Lee does make them go, but there are other fine players on that team.

This board is lighting up on here!! Everyone just take a chill-pill and remember one thing.....Teams are warming-up for the real prize, Mid-March in Murfrees!!!! Whatever happens between now and then is just chemistry-making. Teams don't want to peek right now. They want to have their best games in Mid-to-Late February and carry over to the state. Maryville, William Blount, Science Hill, D-B, and Greeneville will all be in the hunt for their respective districts and regionals. It doesn't matter who beat who right now. When February rolls around, Science Hill will still be the team to beat and the other teams I mentioned will be looking, and capable, of knocking them off. I am an avid DB alumni and they will surprise a lot of people if they can get healthy. When Maryville beat them last week, DB had two starters see limited minutes that give significant contributions to the team and no one that doesn't normally start gave much to the team that night. It is going to be fun to see just who will be upset and who will take that I-40 drive in March!!! Good luck to all!!!

    • With Westview only losing one senior and returning Sims, they have to be one of the favorites in AA
    • Watched Westview at McKenzie Thursday and they surprised me. Without Evans (who was sick) and Brent (who had thumb surgery shortly after getting back from her ankle injury), they looked solid. I didn’t realize Gray from SF had transferred in. You have Sims, Gray, Brent, Trevathan, and Evans and that’s a solid 5. Then, you bring in Hayden and Rogers off the bench along with some other upcoming and they will be tough again this year!
    • Hmmmmmm doe dee doe doe……sounds like they are leaving Geenback faster than the lawnmower will go in fifth gear.  Hmmmm….. you can bet the lawnmower on that.
    • West looked solid...excited to see this young group excel
    • When you have a school that right at 200 kids only half are going to be male and to get 25% of them to come out for football is a very hard task. Take away an 8th grade syatem and your you have another hill to climb up. If 5 kids are actually leaving your not going to have enough for practice. Your only chances for wins would be against the weakest of weak teams. At one time Greenback had kids coming across the wall like the Mexican Border and now their leaving town before sundown. A hugh mistake was made on not hiring Ryan back because of his ties to the community and his ability to bring in the right kids, not run them off. The last coach failed because he wasn't one of community so they go out and do it again. I'm sure Coach Clemmer is a good person because I do know people that do like him but he is caught in the middle of a fan base that will not support him no matter what and it could lead to a disaster if that many kids are leaving the program. The person that caused all of this mess has no business on the school board and needs to stick with hiding in the bushes giving out speeding tickets to out of towners coming through.
