chip10
dyer county loses 63-51! brian still has a good game though
CoachD33
14AA is overall stronger than 13AA this year and have played stronger schedules. As I posted once before, if Dyer County plays their best they will advance to sub-state unscathed. If they have an off night at least three teams in Dist. 14 are capable of jumping up and biting them.
dcchoctaws1
you are correct about 14-AA, they are absolutely loaded and you can see why i say that. Ripley has a very outstanding team with very good athletes who can literally shoot the lites out of the gym. they are very aggresive on defense also. would be no suprise to see them in the substate. as for the loss, its all good, may be the best loss we ever had. glad that we wont be the # 1 team in the state when the rankings come back out next week. congrats to the ripley tigers on an outstanding game played! dcchoctaws1
by the way brian had 28 points. the home win streak was snapped at 32 in a row!
twhoops
This is not making excuses or anything because Ripley is capable of beating anybody, but Dyer County was without the services of their third leading scorer in Antonio Mitchell, and Dustin Byrd did not play either. Antonio has the flu and Dustin was not at school. They may or may not have been the difference. We will see in a week.
balla007
Excuses, excuses Dc fans are absolutely the worst. DC has never lost a game that the officials didnt take or that there opponent cheated or something. Its sad when you cant say we lost and Ripley outplayed us. DC no wonder that everyone loves to see you lose.
ParisRiverRat
Who are the top 4 teams from 14AA that should advance to the region.....I would guess Ripley, Fayette-Ware, Haywood and somebody. I an looking forward to coming down one night to check them out, when does tourney start, and where at????
dcchoctaws1
dc was without 2 players who contribute greatly to the team. one was a starter, the other the 6th man. we did however get beat, no one is making excuses, just telling the truth. ripley is a very outstanding team. wescharge, the district tournament for 14-AA will be at brighton high school. i think their tournaments start almost a week behind ours in 13-AA. Coach25
when talking about 14aa boys, remember that ripley is in 4th place behind fayette ware, haywood, and covington-(ranked as having the toughest schedule in AA). Guest Katman
Fayette-Ware and Haywood are the two best night in night out. Ripley has the most potential and can beat anybody but has tendencies not to show up. I am sure not having Mitchell hurt DC but Byrd doesn't matter. Why didn't Montrell take over? When you have key people out, your best should step up.
Jumpshot
Just a note FYI. Raleigh Egypt has defeated Fayette Ware THREE times this season, once by thirty points at Fayette Ware. The Pharaohs also beat Haywood by ten points this year. All of you DC folks just keep on thinking that the only teams in Memphis that can play are Ridgeway and BTW! overtime
You cannot make posts like this one and not expect people to think that you are making excuses! If you were not making excuses why say that we were missing 2 players. That in and alone sounds like an excuse for losing the game. The fact is that DC is a very good team, but not as dominant as last year. They can probably win their district tourney by just showing up, but when the regional comes around they had better bring their "A" game every night or there will be a lot of DC fans that will be hammered by people on this board.
