imasoftballer
Most of the gloves are 30% off the retail price listed at their web site. If you take your game seriously, don't rely on a $40 glove from Wal-Mart. Use what the pros use. Ozzie Smith and Gary Carter(hall of famers) are both on the advisory staff for Akademia and work closely with the staff in the design of the gloves. Look in this months issue of eastbay and compare prices! [Edited by imasoftballer on 2-27-03 9:08A]

imasoftballer
Akadema has a new glove design that no one matches in their reptilian series. Thegloves are very comparable to Nokona and the Wilson A2000 but at a fraction ofthe price. Check the web for prices then get a quote from me. RHSfan
imasoftballer My son, an 04 catcher, does not need a new glove right now, but I would like to give a testimonial regarding the Akadema glove line. My son had been using Rawlings Pro Preferred catchers mitts. They are a work of art, great craftsmanship and beautiful design, but the leather just didn't hold up. After a hundred or so games, practice and catching bullpens, the kip leather was cracked and checking and the mitt became so soft and floppy it was difficult to use. Last fall we purchased an Akakema AMM 49 pro series catchers mitt for this year. It was very stiff, probably due to the higher quality leather, but it broke in relatively easily. The leather is holding up very well and the mitt is holding its shape. My son loves it and is very pleased with it. One other thing about the Akadema, it's pop is enough to intimidate any batter. It has a very distinctive pop. From what I have seen concerning the quality of the Akadema gloves and mitts, I am sure you will do well with them. imasoftballer
Thanks. I'm just trying to get the word out on these gloves. They are changing the game. The first real change in the glove as we know it in many, many years. [Edited by imasoftballer on 3-3-03 8:46A]
