14111111, & TheAnswer9,

I agree completely what you both said about fatchance, and I'm still cracking up that was hilarious and very true at the same time.

As for the game,

I (like many others) will be skipping college and work to go see this game. I feel like everyone one else that it is a shame that they have to meet in the 1st round, but thats just the breaks.

I feel that if Temple plays the DEFENSE that they know how to play then they will come out with the win. Also if it boils down to the final minute(which is what everyone is expecting including myself) then I feel that Temple will have the upper hand b/c they have pulled out the close games the past 2 yrs.

GO TEMPLE!!! ALL THE WAY BABY

I agree with you Jamey that Summertown is a very good basketball team, but I'm not sure how you can say that Perry County and Temple have nothing on them. Perry County has beaten them three out of four times this year. I haven't seen Temple play but there is little doubt about how good they are. I wish Summertown luck. I think all of P.C. does. Maybe we'll get to meet you again in the finals.

Beck and every other person out there who is wondering what JameyRussel is thinking, coming on here and hyping up S'town (when it isnt even a thread about them), I would like to speak on behalf of about 99 percent of summetown when i apologize for his actions. I, like every other person from s'town really do try and support my team, but please take into consideration that JameyRussel is not a TRUE fan of our basktball program. He is one who has "jumped on the bandwagon" so to speak since things have started getting interesting. He is not aware of the tradition involved in highschool bball and therefore is blinded by such matters as sportsmanship or knowing when speak out on certain matters. As u can tell, he has only posted 4 messages, so this is all new to him. Again, please dont think everyone from S'town is as arrogant as him.

Good Luck Perry County....

Temple did not play Summertown.....they did play them in summer camp and Temple did win.... but we all know that summer camp means absolutely nothing. so we will just have to see what happens

Fortherecord, thanks for the message. I don't believe everyone shares Jamey's thoughts. I understand Jamey having pride in his team. Any fan should. I just think he could have chosen his words more carefully. If P.C. doesn't win the tournament I hope Summertown does. It would be great to have a district 12-A state champion this year!

I also believe that if PC holds Jake (Mr. Basketball) Skogen to 10 points or less that they will win. But that would be a miracle because Skogen has started all 34 games this year and his lowest point total is 17. And who says Temple can't guard the post? Obviously the same people who haven't seen them play at all this year. Crusaders by 5.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
