Indian
It's not about statistics and batting averages, really that's just a very minor part of it that you and Weasel are focusing on. Think about the money wasted going over there and not playing a game, gas money for several vehicles, and then having the gate and concession money ruined because they forfeit the day of the home game. And the game at Howard was scheduled so early that players had to leave school 2 hours early, I'm sure a teacher wouldn't like that knowing a game wasn't even played. As for Weasel, he is the one that keeps bringing this up, called Howard and Brainerd, probably implying others as "stiffs" and put down the leaders in batting in the area, good players from Whitwell, Walker Valley and Sweetwater, just because they're not playing in Class AAA. How is that for "sportsmanship?" [Edited by Indian on 3-31-03 9:41A]
Indian
This is not on the topic so I put it in a different post. Your profile says you are from Dayton, do you play at Rhea County? If so what did you think of the catcher from Sequatchie?
mynameis
I agree with Indian in that it is lousy they should lose the gate and Concessions, especially if they don't have many home games. I agree though with some of the others about the stats thing. Everyone has a weak team or two in their district and play agaonst them it is just how it is. weasel
Indian, The only thing i disagree with you is padding the stats and YOU said that, not me. When Sequachie went to Howard and there weren't any umps, then you should have taken the initiative and umped the games yourself. In the meantime I think everyone in the surrounding area should chip in a few bucks to make up for your lost gate and concession money. I will start out with $5.00 of my own money. imasoftballer
All games have to have TSSAA umps to count. If a parent would have called the game and a girl got hurt the school could be sued.
weasel
TSSAA has a provision in the rule book that states in case of a situation like this that anybody agreeable to both sides can ump the game. The host school then has 48 hours to contact the TSSAA and explain what happened.
