8AAA IS one of the toughest districts in the mid-state

and none of the top four teams are DOORMATS as you would say,

the only reason that CC has only had one state title is because that was the only team they EVER have had to where EVERY person on the team CARED. You will see more and more of that this year Coffee will surprise alot of people, and the fact that Benjamin was the only one that was ever discussed is because that's the way they played they had ONE player on the court, not because they others weren't good enough but because EVERYTHING was centered around Amber, it seemed at times that it was more important to let her play a whole game good night or not than it was to win.

You can't be all about 1 player, a team is a unit not 5 individuals,...ok I'm done raving :D

8675309... The only reason CC won the state is White Co. was upset in the state tourney in 1993. CC lost 3 games that year. All to White Co. They lost by 31 points 9 days before they won the state. They can thank White Co. for their state championship. Back to the topic. I think if 8AAA and 7AAA played home and home Shelbyville AND Lawrence would have losses at the end of the season.

85 you have a deep haterd for Shelbyville. Don't hate on Coffee County State title. Yea White County beat them that year three times but who did it when it counted. It always seems to be the problem with White County can't win when it counts. Shelbyville and Lawrence Co. both are better than any team over in 7AAA. If both of them were over there they would be 1 and 2 like they are in 8AAA.

I would agree that Shelbyville would be #1 last season, but not Lawrence #2. White Co. lost in overtime, but played horrible in that game. Cookeville is VERY tough at their place also. I think everybody outside of Shelbyville dislikes{hate is a strong word} Shelbyville. They should be playing Div. II ball will the recruiting. Please don't come back with a comment that they don't recruit. :D

The questions on everyone's mind should be: What would district 8AAA be like if Shelbyville played with local talent only? How many of the starting 5 on each of Shelbyville's championship teams actually went to Elementary School in a Shelbyville feeder school? What would 8AAA be like if the players stayed "home" at the high school level?

All I have to say to all of you is when you Prove something you can talk about Shelbyville recruiting but until then get off it cause it is not happening.

What I mentioned was to have grudge matches between districts, I don't care which ones but to boost up the interest in middle Tennessee. You never know when someone can be beat.Who cares if Shelbyville does or does not recruit if I had a program I would pattern it after Coach Insell's.It seems to work.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
