OK, just for fun, cause anything can happen between now and then.

In order.

AAA

Cumberland County....they only lose a senior infielder and a senior outfielder. New kids on the block won't be starry-eyed next year.

Soddy Daisy....lose many seniors including their pitching and the best hitter in the state, but heck, they reload, not rebuild.

Hendersonville

Coffee Co

Rossview

Hunter's Lane.... lose 5 key seniors, but their pitcher wasn't one of them. It is too hard to replace that many key players without a hick-up.

AA

David Lipscomb... they lose 2 seniors, no pitchers, and are rebuilt with youth already on the team.

East Ridge.... They lose 2 seniors but retain their pitching will gain from their mistakes of 2003.

Greenbriar... They lose 2 seniors including a pitcher, but seem to be well poised to return to Memphis.

Lenior City.... Surprised everyone....no surprises in 2004.

Gibbs.... Another powerhouse that knows no rebuilding. They lose their ace, but another waited her turn.

A

Goodpasture .... Like anyone has to doubt. They lose a senior at second and one in center field. Powerful hitting and pitching.

Boyd Buchanan...Lose 4 seniors but retain their pitching. Any other year and they would be the hands-down favorite, but GP has a dynasty on their hands.

These 2 teams are soo strong that I won't even bother with 3rd or below.

Div II

Baylor .... They lose a lot of girls...as in 1. nuff said.

The rest won't come close, but.....

St. Benedict....They had an angel in the outfield in 2003. 2004 could be less emotion and more talent.

Brentwood Academy..... Lose 3, retain pitching, and teach the young'uns how to smack the ball.

Boyd-Buchanan only loses 2 starters, short-stop Emily Broyles and outfielder Lauren Lusk. Both are excellent players but in reality with the girls that Boyd has they will be at least at the same level they were this year if not better. It very well could be Boyd and Goodpasture in the state finals again next year.

Hume-Fogg did lose 4 very valuable players, but they have players coming up who can contribute immediately. Sally Dye (not Boyce) will be a team leader after sitting out a transfer year. Several freshman with travel and middle school experience will be coming in, E. Brooke Heriges, Taylor Childress and Ashley Arnold. Others from this years team will be counted on to step their game up a notch. As for the East Lit situation, we'll just have to see how that plays out. They will still be a force, but just like all but 4 teams, the battle cry is "just wait till next year!"

I don't think East Lit will be making a team next year. East Lit is a very small school, and only a select few even wanted to play softball. The two magnet schools can combine to produce a powerful team. Anyways, I'm sure the girls from East Lit wouldn't change a thing. They love playin for Hume Fogg. Sally DYE (lol) transferred from St Cecilia and played for the Eagles alongside with Megan Rhodes and our own Lauren Manna. She had to sit out a year. But yes, HFA does have some good players coming in.

    • We could sure use some math teachers country wide. Ever go into a store or restaurant and the bill comes to $9.97 and you give them a ten dollar bill and 2 pennies because you wanted a nickle back and then the meltdown starts and the next thing two more people have to come and help figure it out and the place comes to a complete halt. I see this everyday and it's a sad representation of all these schools allowing these kids out the door to get shortchanged the rest of their life.
    • I like the Pirates chances. I’ll be there as soon as work allows.
    • Stars, I heard we were searching far and wide for some math teachers. Any chance their kids bench press or 40 times are getting checked? LOL I’ve heard good things from 825.
    • I think it was expected. “Bad” luck I guess to get a couple difference maker QBs in the same class. I thought the decision was made a little early myself, but they were struggling offensively last year.  I assume the running quarterback alco had last year would be a senior this fall, and the transfer would start the following two years in addition to getting a ton of playing time this year. Maybe he waits two yrs, but I doubt it. The kid is good. So is the one who stayed.
    • I'm from Cloudland and we've never played a sectional game.  We need to win tomorrow night to avoid that bus ride.  Us and north greene can play with you guys so I'm expecting good games whoever the matchup is.
