JohnnyC
First of all, Watson would not try to recruit anyone. He was first in line against Rankin when all the recruiting allegations went down last year. He would not be so stupid as to do it himself. But I am curious though, where is the guy going? I've heard everywhere. . . -JohnC
GWAVE1
Well I have never heard of the guy is he worth being recruited? I use the term "recruited" very loosely.
TDCman
Where's Waldo...er...CJ? I'll see if I spot anybody running laps around the practice field during tomorrow's scrimmage. I don't know anything about his situation but I would think he would have to earn his way back on the team at Riverdale. I would love to have him back at Riverdale, if he is there with his head on straight. There are ways to see if a guy is willing to pay the price it takes to win. Region4fan, not sure which part you are asking about on the picture, but here is what I did: ~ Found that picture on the net somewhere and downloaded it. ~ Edited it in Paint to add the "Go Warriors" text. ~ Created a new web page on my site and set the picture as the background with "stretch to fit" ~ Linked that otherwise empty page to my signature. I thought it was a cool picture that had a certain aura to it.
Guest region4fan
JohnnyC...I am sure you are right about Watson being in line on the Riverdale stuff that went down. I do not know if CJ was called or not by one of Siegel's coaches. However, Watson should know what the rules are about playing kids out of zone. This is what I DO know. CJ lives in Oakland's zone. He was in Riverdale's until they changed the zone lines b/c of Siegel. As a senior had the right to finish his senior year with the Warriors if he chose to. He chose to try it at Oakland. He practiced 2 days with OHS , then never came back. Now no matter what, he is still in Oakland's zone. I talked to a Siegel parent tonight who CONFIRMED that CJ POWELL is on the team and practicing at Siegel. He is NOT in Siegel's zone by any stretch of the imagination. Now if Watson is on the up and up, he should have sent CJ packing. If the board approves a zone exemption for CJ to go to school at Siegel and play ball there, I personally know 2 football parents( who were forced to send their kids to Siegel instead of remaining at OHS)who WILL take this to whatever level is needed for justice.(TSSAA) SO>>>>Johnny C , you may want to warn your buddy, Watson that what he is doing is not worth it TDCMAN...thanks for the info about the picture. It really is inspiring!! Edited August 1, 2003 by region4fan
CoachFB
I thought CJ Powell was a DB not a QB.
Guest region4fan
Yes, you are right, he is a DB. I wondered about that one myself.

olineathlete
actually, isnt there a rule stating that if you move zones, u can switch teams and not sit out a year, but if u transfer or get a waiver into another school, u have to sit out a year. so wouldnt cj have to sit out if he went to Siegle as he is in the OHS zone.... JohnnyC
I don't know. I'll have to ask around. But I know that Watson is a smart guy, who probably has already talked to whoever he needs to talk to concerning CJ. He wouldn't want to screw up by allowing an inelegible player play and get put out of the playoffs for a few seasons. -JohnC
WingT
C.J. Powell 100% is not, has not been on Siegel's football team. Nice rumor for an internet chat board though.
Guest region4fan
WingT....you must be a Siegel coach who is sweating. I bet Rankin would love to return the favor.
TDCman
Actually, I think Riverdale just wants to play football. If you can do it on the field, you don't have to try and pull a lot of crap off of the field. So, since the Siegel rumor has been put to bed, where is CJ? CJ was the starting corner in the Blue Cross bowl, I think it's likely he can help wherever he lands. I'm starting to think he may be through with football.
