No Live Radio At Grundy Games

I remember one time, years ago, when Warren Co High School had the same rule about now allowing live radio broadcasts of high school football. I was calling the games for Tullahoma High School at the time and we taped the game, quarter by quarter. We had rented a motel room locally and at the end of each quarter, someone would rush the tape over to the motel and we would play the tape from the motel room. It was actually tape delayed, but only for 30 minutes. Would that be legal, under Coach Colquettes rules, to do at Grundy Co games? I agree with many others who have posted here, that the rule is a little old fashioned. To be able to do that at Grundy, I suppose you would have to rent a motel room in Monteagle. Scott Shasteen and myself, currently do the Tullahoma games on 101.5 FM in Manchester and I know that Tullahoma fans support the Wildcats in large numbers for road games and the ones that listen on the radio, who for various reasons can't attend the games, really appreciate being able to listen on the radio. Are internet only broadcasts permissable at Grundy? Tullahoma games are on the radio and internet. Would Coach Colquette allow live radio games, if Grundy Co High School received a broadcast rights fee? I know several of the Grundy Co coaches and hope they have a fine season, but the school does need to abolish that rule, in my opinion.

Did you think about people like usat Walker Valley that have to drive half way across the state to play Grundy. Thats the only reason I disagree with not having live radio broadcast.

Aren't there enough qualified people in Grundy County? I mean Ken Colquette is the Principal, the Athletic Director, and the Head Football Coach. Golda Colquette who is probably some relation to Ken is the Voc. Directory/Assistant Principal.

 

Does Ken Colquette call the Grundy County Auction too (ref. to the JMM Song)?

What a sad day when a school has no more confidence in its fans. Radio will not stop fans from coming to the games, plus it helps promote the team. Del I've heard about the games on cable TV maybe they should stop that as well. I've read on this site that Grundy's TV broadcast are really bad. Coach C might get embarssed by those. I would not want anything BAD to happen to the KING of Grundy County. It's just like a city board or county board meeting it can be broadcast, at a ballgame you just don't have to provide space or power for it, but you can buy a ticket and talk on you own Cell phone or is that againist the Grundy rule. That is what they make batteries (get the hint).

Don't count on it I haven't found a cell phone that works in Grundy County!

Yes they do. I looked it up they have a cell phone dealer close to the high school. Surely that means one will work up there.

if you can find an on street parking space (one on public right of way..like the shoulder), and it is not marked as a no parking zone, then yes, as long as you can see the field you could call the game....there is noting the school can do.......

Well you really haven't solved a problem for Binns. Grundy doesn't play Tullahoma so Binns never really had a problem.
