It is a fact coaches listen. Several years ago Jim Ragland at TTU asked me about a player ironically at Marion Co. I had broadcasted a playoff game. He heard it. The kid was Brian Janaway. By the way he went to TTU. One of very few Marion or Grundy players I remember going on to college football.

If you say it happened then I'll go along with it. It's just not something I've ever experienced. I've always had coaches wanting film or to see the kid in person. This sounds like the coach was already familier Janaway and wanted to keep up with him. So I guess in that sense it would help. But he could also get that info off tape delay.

As for Grundy kids going on to college we've had several. Our trouble seems to be getting them to stay. Many come home after a couple of weeks for whatever reasons.

By the way the only reason Cable TV is charged rights fees is because TSSAA the money hungry non profit organization that it is has a deal with videosports or some company to produce tapes to sell of State championship games and basketball tourneys.

Is that what started the fee? You got proof of that? I'd love to know those details. Sounds like what probably happened. Lord knows they want their money.

Del,

if the stations are in the same city/county then they already pay a rights fee. They are called taxes.

Some would say fourth grade, Del.

I just think that rules imposed on radio stations at high school football games are imposed because certain people think that they know everything there is to know about how media affect games. They don't. This isn't the 1950's.

I personally think it is pretty low (and childish) to not allow live radio broadcast of the games, especially to the visiting team. There's still quite a few people who have to work while the game is being played. I believe it is called 2nd shift. Do they not deserve to to listen to a broadcast of their team? Some people are not able to travel to the games because of health problems with themselves or family. DO THEY NOT DESERVE TO HEAR THE GAME? I really thought this was a free country, but I guess we still have small pockets of dictatorships.

They still can hear the game. The next day on tape delay. No one said they couldn't broadcast. Just not live.

Again, I hope someone makes sure Page, Sequatchie, Sequoyah and Walker Valley are prepared. The last three should know since they've been here since Coach Colquette came. Page however has never been here. So I hope someone passes the word to their folks.

Del, As I mentioned earlier I am really afraid that Sequatchie County might not even have there games on radio at all the way the radio station has been going I haven't heard anything that would suggest that but just a feeling. Dunlap always tape delayed it on Saturday mornings no (live) feed. A week or so ago one of the dj's said on the radio talking with another dj about college football said he doesn't follow football. :justwrestle:

I don't think you have to worry about Page Del. AM-950, which would cover the Page game if they were going to (that's a big if) I believe will have Nascar that night. I think the Busch guys will be at Bristol so that has priority over HS Football. Plus, I think they'd probably be going live from Lincoln County with Franklin if they were to do a week 0 game. They do a different WilCo game every week.

    • The amount of people pooing on UH is crazy. They're a noticably better team than last year when they made state and were competitive , AND they run ruled Eagleville a few weeks ago. Now I understand Eagleville was missing a few guys, but they still. They. Run. Ruled. Eagleville. 1st single A team to run rule Eagleville since when? Pre 2017??
    • If that Yellow Paint is all gone I'll flat bet it didn't wash off there. I bet that took some scrubbing to remove that if it is gone. Lacrosse is one of those northern sports all these misplaced Yankee's that are posion to the community brought in by  (Blount Partnership, ( The Devil) with them so somebody allowed them to paint their markings on the field that cost more than the twenty top people on payroll at Maryville make a year. All this to please the 1% Club and the 25 people that would come to see it. All in the name of WOKE!!!!!!
    • They will probably, struggle
    • Dyersburg is going to be good, really good. As mentioned, they have a lot of talent on the way and the trio of Chelby, Joya, and KayKay will only be better with a full season together under their belt. To me, playing in Murfreesboro two consecutive postseasons will only serve to make them more dangerous if/when they stand among the final eight teams this March. Experience, good or bad, always makes you better. And not only do they have experience, they know how to win there. Schedules are coming together for all of the teams and I am excited about what I am seeing on the preliminary drafts on Dyersburg’s schedule. I know I am being a tease, but it’s simply not my place to announce what another school is doing. With that said, I won’t go into specifics. However, I am excited about renewed home and away contracts for the non-district portion of the calendar. I think west Tennessee will have a lot of interest as well.
    • What does everyone have in the final 8? In no particular order. 1. Eagleville 2. Gordonsville 3. Greenback 4. Oakdale 5. South Pitt/ East Robertson-- not sure 6. Richland 7. Halls 8. Union City
