:usa: :usa: Ezell-Harding played there second team during the second half. The first team played special teams only. I believe coach smith was a bit sympathetic friday night towards Pope John Paul. I thought he showed a lot of class when he called off the EAGLES.

They put up 22 points in the 1st Quarter. Sounds like Coach Smith was classy, though, in pulling his 1st-teamers after that.

I would be interested in hearing the Ezell's folks views on the Pope John Program.

 

Obviously this year they are still a very young team made up mainly of Junior Varsity but would like to hear what your views of their future 2-3 years from now might be.

JP II will be ok in a few years. Brothers has been in too many good programs and knows what it's going to take to get his team there. This school has big time facilities and that's going to get some athletes interested in their program.

JP II had some noticeably good players. #69 looked like the second coming of Reggie White.

 

Overall, JP II had quite a few more players. I think I counted 38 Ezell players suited up. JP II looked to have 50 or so. Maybe I am wrong though.

 

I believe that JP II will be a pretty good team in 2-3 years.

 

Interesting Tidbit: I heard a rumor that Goodpasture lost kids to JP II. I know, that sounds fishy. Church of Christ to Catholic??????? I don't know if the rumor is true. If it is, I don't know if it relates to overall students or just football players. Maybe someone can fill in the truth here.

yeah, 69 was quite a big fella. JP2's whole defense, aside from the first quarter, seemed to be pretty good. I was most impressed with the front d-line and the linebackers, from what i could see.
