Tennessee Statewide Top 25

Based on 3 weeks of football, you get a small dose of how good most teams are, it will fluctuate as the season goes on though, and teams will drop out of this poll. I need about 5 hardcore followers of their regions of the state to give their top five and then 3 respective just missed every week for the remainder of the season, just 5 from each region though, i dont want this post to be 10 pages, thats annoying. Also, you have to be honest, not biased, and know what you are talking about. I will cover of course the Chattanooga area along with some others from this area who have significant knowledge of the respective teams.

 

The now 6 regions are:

Northwest TN -Clarksville

Memphis-Jackson

Nashville-Boros

Chattanooga

Knoxville

Tri-Cities

 

Since there are now six some regions may not represent 5 teams.

 

Anyone with significant knowledge of these areas, know what teams should be covered.

 

Heres the Chattanooga area as I see it, dont be biased and give a poll, if a team you have on there hasnt lost but doesnt play anybody, they are not going to be top five, top five teams play tough competition, not powder puffs.

I will compile your responses, and find a majority, be sure and put records and class.

According to WVLT-TV, here is their top 8 in the Knoxville area...

 

1) Maryville (4-A) 3-0

2) Knox. Central (4-A) 3-0

3) Oak Ridge (5-A) 2-0

4) Anderson County (3-A) 2-0

5) Austin East (3-A) 2-0

6) Seymour (3-A) 2-0

7) Kingston (3-A) 2-0

8) Knox. Catholic (DII-2A) 2-0

anspa, you need to modify your regions here in west tn. It needs to be Southwest TN and Northwest TN with Jackson being your dividing line. Jackson probably should be with Southwest TN. Us here in NW TN just don't really follow or play the teams down toward Memphis much. Especially in the smaller classes.

I think Grundy County will be one to watch for that Chattanooga top 5. I wouldn't put us there yet either but I think we deserve watching on the "just missed" list. Our game at South Pittsburg will tell a lot this Friday.

Alright, then someone from northwest and someone from southwest give me your top 5 and 3 just missed, i appreciate someone cleaning up bulldog69 from here also, and thanks for the responses, i could use quite a few more though in order to round out the state, and to get a jist of whos who.

del if grundy beats s pitt they will definitly be in just missed and maybe if they blow them out, the top 5. i dont see it happening, but maybe grundy sees somthing i dont.

I think Grundy has not played a decent team yet. My opinion is SP 35 Grundy 14.

I need more peoples respective polls from their areas, especially Memphis and all of west Tennessee, along with the Tri-cities area.

The Commercial Appeal has a dandy dozen and the top five are:

That's excluding Southaven because they are from Mississippi.

I'm very skeptical of my Seymour team. We've played to sub-par teams. Let's wait until we play a good team and then see how we are - I guess we'll find out alot about my Eagles this Friday Night.

I would agree with WVLT-TV with one exception, I'm not to familiar with the private school division so I would replace Catholic. Catholic could probably be in the top 3 of a private school polling.
