Ya'll came in so cocky and arrogant that you thought you could play half a**ed and roll big.But you found out you got to bring your best game to beat OC now.They're not the same team everybody used to roll over.You're big boy Grandberry was held to 65 yards where he had been averaging well over 130 a game and if not for poor tackling would have been held to less than that.The only two players that looked like they wanted to win was the QB and the fullback.Covington has the worst sportsmanship I've ever seen.Take your loss like a man and admit you got outplayed.In OC's 42 year history and as many losses as they've had to endure combined have not whined as much as you have over this one.

Hey man why do yall keep talkin about the past, nobody can change it so its stupid that yall keep arguing about it. You cant change that obion got beat by ripley and covington cant change that they got beat by oc but covington took care of business friday night and now there is a three way tie in the region. If OC Ripley and Covington win out how will the title be claimed? Go Chargers and #15.

If all three teams win out, there will be a three way tie for 1st in the region. Since Ripley will have the best overall record (9-1), they will be region champs. Obion Co and Covington will have 8-2 records, but since Obion Co beat Covington, OC will be the higher seed because of their head to head win. Final standings will be:

1st Ripley 2nd Obion Co

3rd Covington

4th ??? (Brighton)

 

Of course, if one of these teams loses again, this would be all up in the air. Big games still remaining are Milan @ Covington (Oct 24), and Ripley @ Dyersburg (Oct 10).

 

Its gonna be fun!!!!

It's a real shame that this method of tiebreaker is used to determine playoff seedings. After beefing up their non-region schedule, Covington may be rewarded with a three seed. Maybe it is better to play Manassas and Treadwell than Germantown and Milan. It just seems that something else should be used, maybe points allowed in region games. Even so, I think the Chargers will be better off in the long run because of playing quality opponents.

Being that JAC is #2 in the STATE in The Big One's Contest, (and ahead of me) I must conclude that he has a very informed opinion. I would like to nominate him to be on the TSSAA governing board.

Whether or not the win was a fluke or not can only be determined one way and that's by the two teams meeting again in the playoffs which has a good possibility of happening.Obion Central was the better team in that first game and they played with the heart and determination it takes to beat a team like Covington.I will be the first person to admit that Covington is more athletic than OC but their attitude did them in.If you don't show up to play every night then things like that happen.CovingtonQB15 is right it is silly to argue over what has already happened but it is fun though.Good luck to both teams and maybe we can finally settle the score once and for all.

let me comment on this topic since i was at the game. kmaO2 does not represent how everyone feels about the covington and obion game. obion wanted it more than covington and the great thing about high school football is that x's and o's don't really matter, it all comes down to who wants it more and obion did. it is called respect your opponent and i think obion has earned their respect.

Thanks for the show of respect dmill10.I meant no harm towards the fine folks of Covington it just gets heated when people like kma02and chargerlb62 show no class whatsoever.We certainly wish Covington luck on the rest of the season.
