:justwrestle: Well this fan of Swain County wasn't ready to see a team with both that much size and speed on the field. Now with that said, what will Morristown West bring to Swain County next season?

Do ya'll lose those monsters, 42, 49 and 98? Plz say yes! They control Swain's play on offense all night long.

Was that next years team on the field late in the game? I hope so.... big drop off and if ya'll say that was the freshmen team just shoot me now.

#42 Emmanuel Frederick - SR

#49 Kaleb Goforth - SR

#98 Brandon Fanney - SR

What you saw at the end of the game was a mixture of seldom played subs. The second team defense was still pitching the shutout until the younger kids came in with about 8 minutes to go. West will still be a solid team next year.

No freshmen went in at all. 2's and 3's went in for the last 8 minutes. West is always pretty deep and will bring them around for next year. Give the rest of the defense credit too. How about linebackers, Dorning #46, Tackle Chris Long, #92 and CB's Matt Rice#7 and Brad Harris #33 all contributed to the defensive effort. Our offense also stepped up and QB, John Minnick really had a good showing. And what about that catch by #20 Joe Dietz! Enjoyed playing Swain, will look forward to next year. By the way, how far is the casino from Swain?

Cherokee is ten miles from Bryson City!

I'm not attempting to knock or leave out the rest of West's defense but those three were and are MONSTERS! I'll loved to have any one of them over here on this side of the hill.

Swain brings back most of this seasons team, we are a fine 1A school but from what I saw we stepped out of class Thursday. Now just how well could Swain compete with East Tennessee's 1A or 2A schools? Plz don't tell me they are as good as West is, and that 1-3 record was very misleading. LOL

Big plus for Swain this season is playing two 3A and one 4A school in NC, but to tell ya'll the truth West would only be a 3A school over here..... a dang fine 3A school to boot.

Swain should be ready to finish out the SMC play and make a good run for the 1A state title this year. (SMC=Smoky Mountain Conference) :justwrestle:

Cloudland High is a 1A school just inside the Tennessee/North Carolina border. They are a dang handful for a 1A school. Cloudland beat Cherokee 52-12 tonight, and Cherokee is in West's conference. I'm not saying Cloudland could compete with West, but Cloudland and Swain could have a great game, with Cloudland the slight favorite in that one.
