5-A Mr. Football

I didn't know about the scrimmage in the spring. Too many other people who are constantly touting Wolke must not be aware of it either. I'd still like to see the two teams play now. It'd be a great refresher course for some of those still in doubt about who Mr. Football in 5-A should be.

Edmiston made a believer out of me the couple of times I've seen him.

Yes, they scrimmaged in the Pit back in May, the week after LC scrimmaged Gallatin. Gregory had a couple of 70+ yard runs for TD's, and Edmiston ran the ball well too. I was expecting a lot more out of Wolke than what I saw. I do not know if it was because he is not really that good, or if the Falcon defense just did that good of a job stopping him. After 8 games of the regular season, I would have to say that it was because the Falcon defense did a good job stopping him. I would like to see them in the playoffs myself to see these two guys on the field to determine which team goes on, and which one's season is over.

Grant Allen from DC. Leads the midstate in Interceptions. 500+ rush yards 500+ rec yards. He would get my vote. But playing Edmiston early in the pre season. Gotta give him mad props.

I don't think anyone can argue with me about Thomas Welch of Brentwood deserving at least a nomination. This dude is huge and he can play with the best of them. If he doesn't deserve it, nobody does.

Gallatin QB Jamison Link needs just 110 yards to break the current record of 1055 set by Mark Byrd of Cloudland last year for rushing by a quarterback.

 

He may not win but needs to be included in the short list.
