Nice win against a pretty good (6-1, now 6-2) Whitwell team...

Jackets' Dustin Fults takes the opening kickoff all the way...and the Jackets never really looked back...

Excellent game plan by Grundy's Staff to add the threat of the deep ball. It helped the veer work much better... Defense should also be commended on making a few big stops in the clutch...

Grundy looks to be gaining some momentum as they near the playoffs...Nice work guys...keep it up!

GO JACKETS!!!

3A beats a 1A team !!!

That is a W that should be a given.

Next Week a cupcake in McMinn Central ( who couldn't win a intersquad game).

Next real test is week one of playoffs against either Trousdale, Portland or LA.

Whitwell is no push over this year BigfMoney. This is probably the best Tiger team since 1991. Maybe a little sour grapes in your post against Grundy County.

Maybe controversy breeds success. Way to go Jackets.

Del.

Del,

Smith Co. will be the second seed in 4-3A if we win this week. Where will Grundy be?

Fan(the Mafia awaits)

You'll have to slip up and fall to 3rd if you want some beans and cornbread.

Del.

Del...fan likes nachos and a dog. He is definitely not a bean and corn bread kind of guy. B) I don't think there is a likely scenario where we finish 3rd.

Well our end should be locked up unless we forget to show up at McMinn and Seqoyah lays down against Howard. Then we'd still be 2nd and Howard would be 3rd and Seqyouah 4th.

I'm still looking for the Italian sausage at our place. Or a good Italian beef sandwhich. They'd have to bring the beef in from Michael's in Oak Park, just outside of Chicago to make me really happy. Or some pizza from Father and Son in the Windy City would also do.

I just wish I could get delivery to the press box. B)

Del.

    • One school has said it, it was York…who Oneida and many school that played them before we did claimed that they were the dirtiest bunch they’ve played. Riverside didn’t call us dirty nor did smith after they beat us. Ur only dirty if your the one giving out the whoopins.
    • If it was anyone but #8 I would agree with you. Theirs a couple people on that team that probably would. Not him. And I who was standing on the 1st base line fence saw clearly that the boys foot was covering more than half the bag.
    • If y’all lose to Farragut something awful has happened.
    • Get him to Bearden ASAP! Or anywhere, Karns hs is in rough shape, probably not getting out of it anytime soon.
    • I'm not a Powell grad.  I am a Bearden grad.   My son and daughter are Powell grads.   I did radio play by play for Powell, my last year was 2013. I also did radio play by play for South Doyle, and my last gig was at Maryville before I retired.   My oldest grandson plays in the Karns Middle program, so I see more Karns games than I do Powell these days.  I've been to 3 Powell games since 2013.   I don't have any ties to Powell, haven't since 2013.   No "y'all" there.    And the kid you are talking about does have a very good arm, but he's not the QB that Deuce Rogers is.  Rogers is a legit dual threat guy.  The younger kid now at Clinton, or about to be at Clinton, isn't the dual threat that Rogers is.
