Lincoln County is getting better

I know a lot of things can be factored in other than just the scores, but for the sake of brevity, let's just look at the numbers.....

In their first three games, LC 115. Opponents 54

In their last FIVE games, LC 224, Opponents 7

In their last five games, they are averaging right at 45 points per game...and that's NOT running up the score. That's with the starting offensive team on the bench the 4th quarter.

The Tennessean may not respect that...but from that thread about "Lincoln County gets no respect" I can see that the people in middle Tennessee who know football and have seen the Falcons play....they respect it. I've seen 'em play a couple of times, and I sure respect 'em.

LC fans don't get too excited about this...you have Franklin, Brentwood, Dickson County, an angry Gallatin and plenty of folks from the East and West, still ahead!

Looking at your last four opponents and your next two I wouldn't get real excited about score differentials. Concentrate on not getting anyone hurt and don't worry about score. Your looking good to go 15-0, there's little doubt that you willl be 10-0.

The best thing is you will get second stringers alot of valuable playing time in these next two games, and your starters a much deserved rest! Your in the driver's seat!

BigDogDaddy, I agree with you in part...there are still some good teams to play in the playoffs, but of the good teams you mentioned above, the good thing is Lincoln County will only have to play one of them. They will eliminate each other enroute. The Falcons will be lucky to get to play any on your list because that would mean they would be playing in Murfreesboro for another state championship.

But there are plenty of other teams in Region 4 and eastward that will challenge them for the right to play one on your list.

Don't get too excited just yet. Lincoln Co. has improved but the teams they have played may be having an off season other than Franklin. Coffee Co. and Franklin Co. have improved but they're not where they want to be just yet. Oakland and Riverdale are strong but they're down from where they have been in the past. The next season will start in the playoffs. Then anybody can beat anybody. Don't get the big head Falcons you still got a lot of football to play.

Franklin Co. (3-1) will come in 2nd with Cookville still to play.

Coffee Co. (2-2) will come in 3rd with Warren Co. still to play.

Cookville (2-2) will be 4th with Franklin Co. to play.

Franklin Co. and Cookville will decide for sure cause it could be a 3 way tie for 2nd.

You can take that for what it's worth cause it's free.

    • There's going to be more fallout from this.  It's not over.   A criminal investigation is also underway.  Additional school counselors have been fired.   As far as coach flip flops is concerned,  a lot of people knew he was flirting with disaster. He was recruiting failed athletes from other schools. Grades and discipline issues that got otherwise good athletes kicked off other area teams were playing at CHS. Grades, addresses or transfer rules be dam ed. It was just a matter of time.  It's a culture issue at the school. I've heard an assistant coach and teacher for another sports team was let go for not breaking up a fight on campus between 2 girls.  Supposedly he's only there because of coach flip flops, they're close.  That guy's kid, who's a great athlete in the school,  will probably transfer out to.  There's just so many layers to this .   I'm not sure the director of all Anderson county schools doesn't get bit by this somehow. He's the one who wanted, pushed for the principal at Clinton in the first place.  He initially denied anything had been uncovered when a local station broke the story.  He had to back track his statements.   It's ugly in Clinton right now folks.   Add in the fact that there's such a huge rivalry with ACHS across the river,  it makes it bitter for clinton fans if they say anything.  Especially given the dominance that ACHS has had over Clinton for 20+ years in  almost everything.
    • Congratulations to y'all. I have been texting some Huntingdon friends. What a great accomplishment. Proud of y'all. Keep battling.
    • I remember it happening, but I don't remember the details. I usually have headphones on so I don't hear the PA anyway. But it seems like a guy I know was doing it at one point, but he either didn't start it or didn't finish. I don't remember which.
    • Kreuziger from Huntingdon has been fantastic on the mound!  I think if the Fillies can score a couple of runs tomorrow it may be all they need to capture their first ever state championship in Softball.  Great day to be a Huntingdon fan!  Baseball team has won 17 in a row and plays for State Championship tomorrow also!
    • More like to much bad publicity so we have to do something. Happens all the time
