Lebanon Theft Scandal

Wow, half a game. That is really teaching these players something. I just lost any and that means very little, respect for Lebanon's players, coaches, and administration. Shame on you! To Coach Brown, any respectable coach would have kicked the players off the team and never looked back. What do you do? You sit them out half a game. You must be desperate to win to degrade yourself and your team with thieves. Shame on the players to not go to the coach and stand up for what is right and saywe don't want these thieves on our team. Shame on the administration for not suspending these players on game day so they wouldn't be able to play. LEBANON HIGH SCHOOL WILL FOREVER BE REMEMBERED AS THE SCHOOL THAT ENCOURAGED STUDENTS TO STEAL OTHER PEOPLE'S PROPERTY IN MY BOOK.

Region4Fan:

Your information on the Lebanon Football Team apparently comes from "The National Enquirer."

We all know where they get their information - from "The Tattler" or "The Star" or just plain make it up to make themselves seem like an expert.

A hint of truth but not EVEN in the same ballpark!

The "thieves" did not start, did not play and did not dress out for the game. They were on the sideline in street clothes.

My son starts anyway and yes, I am proud of him - always have been because he IS a good guy, has a good heart, is a wonderful human being and a good football player.

Sour grapes just ooooooooooze from your statements about Lebanon.

ok region4fan it's about time for you to hang it up. yes not all the players invovled sat the whole game. one of those kids that did was my brother. yes he did take a helmet and a shirt from another school and no he probably wasn't going to give it back......and you know what i don't care and you shouldn'e either because it's not your place. these guys feel terrible for what they did. and if any of you know coach brown you know he wouldn't have it anyother way. these boys have faced what i would consider more than enough punishment from football and at home( at least in my brother's case). you guys just need to drop it.

and region4fan i find it very funny that all you do is sit on this site and relive your glory days. you are a sad man that probably knows none of these players yet you rip them apart......man you are sad

and as far as moose goes he and coach dillard are the 2 worst things to ever be allowed to call the shots for the blue devils...coach brown is the man

Well CECE.....I got my info from a coach from Lavergne. So I think I know which one of you is disillusioned about the facts. He told me that these kids did so much damage that they should have landed in jail. No sour grapes here, just proud that Oakland has respect for other school's property. There coaches teach them that if they don't already know it from their parents.Of course all could have been resolved if a coach had done his job and stayed in the locker room with the kids or checked it before your team left. So bottom line was your coach was negligent.

As for you Shaggy...I can see why your brother was involved in this. With your statements, I can tell that much discipline is needed in your home. Sorry that your brother didn't learn right from wrong. If it wasn't his idea to begin with, he folded to the peer pressure. What a shame.Ii am afraid he will never learn from this due to inadequate punishment.

Now I don't know any Coach dillard, but I do know Coach Moose. He is well respected in the Boro. I will tell you that if you repeated your statement to players, fans, or parents in person here that there would be many escorted to jail for tearing your hide off your skin. Of course little punks like you are only so bold while hiding behind a computer. And according to your post#320038..you were up in arms because your sibling quit football because the coach w as too demanding and wouldn't let him play soccer. That was in April...........now that post didn't sound like the coach was high on your list? Kind odf contadicted yourself didn't you? Or were you just forgetting the past?

As usual you people from Lebanon want to point the finger away from yourselves. We all know that this would never be any kind of an issue if your players had simply respected both Lavergne and Blackman's facilities. You think it is none of my business, but we stick together here in Rutherford County. But you wouldn't know about that kind of loyalty. It sounds like all the other schools in Wilson County have no use for your school either.

you know a lesser man would want to come to the borro and punch you in the face region4fan but that man is not me. i hope you have a great rest of the year with your thing you do here on coacht and i'll go back to things that are more important like homework, work, church, and my family(which isn't perfect but i love them). as far as moose goes i'm sure he is a fine assistant in rutherford co. he just didn't do the job as a head coach in L-town. and as far as hiding behind a computer that's what everyone on this site does. besides i live 5 hours away.

and the issue between coach brown and my brother was worked out with both sides coming out very happy as you could see when oakland and lebanon played.

either way leave these boys alone and get ready for lebanon's return to the postseason.

I have information straight from a source at Blackman that Lebanon dod not just steal a few helmets they stole pants, shirts jersies etc and get this, did a huge amount of damge to the locker room.

If all these items are not returned and if restitution s not made to BHS there will definetly be criminal charges filed for felony theft and vandalism.

Coach Brown sold his sole over this and nothing he does will ever get the respect back from his players they know what happened and what should have happened, this was not a minor prank it is very serious!

By the way this did not cost Lebanon a home playoff game they played their KEY players in this game and would not have beatem Smyrna anyway but at least they have an excuse they can always hang their hat on!

Well, mj, I just checked WILSON COUNTY'S (THAT MEANS ALL COUNTY SCHOOLS) CODE OF CONDUCT. It says for "Stolen Property (stealing, possession of) 1st Offense: 3 Days OSS 2nd Offense: 5 Days OSS 3rd Offense: OSS & Discipline Committee." What do these players get? A slap on the wrist. Injustice in the school systems? You betcha.

    • For perspective the county school I’m associated and graduated from only has 7,600 people in the entire county with a median age of roughly 47. That’s not very many 14-18 year olds to choose from. I think the football team had 25-28 kids or around there.  On the other hand Shelby County has 916,000+ with a median age of 36. This isn’t just about Shelby county, but all the big ones with huge economic advantages!  An urban/rural split would benefit tons of smaller schools that have to compete with counties with 120x the amount of people. Especially the ones who can pick and choose their players from a pool like that!   I also agree with Pujo about charter and magnets and they will eventually be phased into the private divisions because it is obviously an advantage plus all the funding! Add that county schools can’t go recruit outside of their county like charters and magnets!
    • They should be starting next week and go from there.  They never do Spring Practice in April
    • It will be interesting to see if the Warren County School District allows this to go before a jury or they settle out of court before going to trial.  My guess is that this case never goes to trial.  If this goes before a jury, they could award even more than the $750K.  I was on a jury where they were asking for 185K and were awarded 1.2 million.  You never know what will happen in that jury room.
