Sequatchie Valley Basketball

First off does anyone know if/when the Seq. Valley basketball Jamboree will be held and where at? I think it would be at either Dunlap or Jasper because the past two years its been at Grundy & Bledsoe. I think it was at Grundy for two straight years before last year?

 

also what are you picks for the teams in the valley this year!

 

my picks are:

 

1.) Sequatchie County = Only lost one player off last years team.

2.) Bledsoe County

3.) Marion County

4.) Grundy County = New coach this year??

5.) Whitwell

6.) South Pittsburg

Marion also has a new coach this year.

Mike Holt is the new coach at Grundy Co. He previously coached at Lincol Co and before that, he was the girls coach at Motlow. Very good coach, he is very intense and demands hard work from his players. If Coach Holt's youngest son (jr) came with him, look out, it could shakeup the standings in the district. His son also played qb in jr high at Fayetteville. He had to give up football (serious injury).

I saw bledsoe play this summer at camp and they didnt impress me that much,the talent is there but will they be about to put it together?

Grundy's coaches son stayed at his old high school and didnt tranfer to grundy.

Marion also has a new coach this year.

I didn't know Marion had a new coach i thought everyone was pleased with the coach they had.

 

 

So anyone know anything on the Jamboree??

i'm not sure on the jamboree issue. Marion's coach wasnt dedicated to the program so they brought in someone new. Coach Steven Roberts he was an assistant at grundy in the past.

Marion's coach was dedicated to the basketball program, he just wasnt excited about teaching anymore. So no teach, no coach. He also wanted to spend more time with his family.

Beakernaut is right. Marion's last coach was dedicated to his boys and the basketball program, but got burnt out with being in the classroom and wanted to try something new. He knew it would be tough leaving the coaching side of it, but he'll still be around and wishes Coach Roberts and the boys the best of luck with the 2003-2004 season.

Here is the way it is going to be:

3.Bledsoe

4.Grundy

5.Pitt

6.Whitwell

 

Marion will be the big surprise this year in basketball. I think that they got a good chance of being #1 at the end of the year.

Why make such a big deal about who will be the best in the Valley. I mean if u dont finish in the top four of your district then you go home anyway.

Because those teams provide great games and rivalries whether its football basketball or spring sports.
