How can a team only score 17 points in a season?

Through eight games the Clinton Dragons have scored a total of 17 points, 2.1/game average. Something has got to change. The resignation of Cattlet is a start but it appears to run deeper than the former head coach. Maybe the school needs a complete staff change, and the answer may be a combination of people from the past with additional new coaches. This team has not scored since week three, and with Maryville this week I can see no change in the trend.

What type of offensive and defensive scheme(s) have they ran in the past?

They've been on the brink of disaster for a couple of years now. Our (Rutledge) radio play-by-play man was pretty displeased with his alma mater. Seems like they let Jim Gaylor go too soon or get away. Catlett had minimal success at Carter before jumping ship for Clinton.

 

Now Clinton is in the dumps...and Maryville will have to have pity on them to keep it from being 80-0.

17 points? How does that happen? Middle School teams could score 17 points in a season. That's a shame!!

Unfortunately, with all the turmoil, defections and injuries, Clinton is having to play mostly Freshmen and Sophomores. They're basically a JV-team playing 4-A football.

 

Not pretty to watch. But hopefully there will be better days ahead for these kids.

I think it was a td, extra point, two field goals, and then they let their baseball team give it a try and someone hit a grand slam!
