ECS, Harding, Briarcrest

ECS- best fo the three, good o-line (got pushed around by harding a lil tho), great tailback (hall simmons) ok QB in John Mark Braswell, and pretty good WRs in John Selph and Casey Hill. defense is reason why they are real good, they have shut down a lot of good teams. Played really tough schedule. Hall Simmons is hurt is reason for close Bcrest game and reason for loss to Central. ECS has beat both Harding (35-7) and Briarcrest (12-7).

Briarcrest- 2 things they have good o-line, good RB #28 Taylor Dillon, runs really hard. Andrew McKay is also a good RB for them. they are a misdiresction team. Dont have athletes they had last year (ref. Robert Towns/Melvin Cole) QB has been shaky, played Bram Cannon(#9) and Wes Henry (#11) vs everyone. Played 5 QB's in a game vs carver (#1 defense in Memphis) and they threw 7 INTs. Defense has played well of late, but have been known to give up a lot on the ground. Braicrest has lost to ECS (7-12) and beat Harding (21-13).

Harding- probably the most athletic of these three teams. They don't show up for the big games. 2 really good RB's Cortez mack (800yds) and Todd Cox (850 yds).

QB Will Patterson is sporadic, played good against Bolton, played bad against Briarcrest. Defense is worst its been in a long time. Its totally opposite of old, can shut down passing attack and cant control running game. Should have beaten Briarcrest (shot themselves in foot, were inside the bcrest 35 7x, and only came away with 13pts). Harding has lost to ECS (7-35) and Briarcrest (13-21).

vballDaD,

So ECS is a one player team? When was he injured? Does the tailback you mentioned have enough talent to make that much of a difference? The only big play they had against Briarcrest was the punt return in which a Briarcrest player was clearly tripped from behind, but this was after the player had stepped 2 yds out of bounds which the ref didn't call, the other half of their points came from 40+ yd field goals.

The re-match between Harding and B’crest should be a good one. Hardings tailback, #3 will be tough to stop.

Some opinions here are very biased. I can't give analysis on teams, but I will make predictions. ECS will pommel St. Benedict no doubt. Harding won't be so lucky this time. They got off easy on Briarcrest. Briarcrest should dominate this time. I see Catholic dominating the East (they look pretty competitive for once). I predict ECS and Catholic in a close championship game, with Catholic winning. ECS has finally regained some control that they lost in the past 5 years, but it looks like Catholic's year.
