Lewis Co. won't be at the 'boro except as a spectator. The big one will come down to Milan/Huntingdon vs. whoever shakes out of the rest of the state. And before ya'll get on to me, I'm not a fan of either Milan or Huntingdon but do plan on playing one of them (or both) in the next two weeks. And, no, I'm not a player either. Much too old for that now!

I am going out on a limb and saying that Huntingdon upsets Milan in the semis if both make it there.

Huntingdon-31 (on a game winning feild goal)

Milan-28

I wouldn't go to far out on that limb. You might fall and hurt yourself. Milan will handle Huntingdon again if they meet. I know that Huntingdon didn't play its best in the last meeting. The scary thing is neither did Milan.

how many of you have been on the field with atleast 2 of the 3 big teams in the east? i have. and im sorry but if tyner doesnt win it this year something is seriuosly wrong with that program.im not a tyner fan at all. i dont like any of the big 3 in the east.the only one i remotely respect is lipscomb but you people dont understand how physical and how quick tyner is. im not jumping on the bandwagon. but lipscomb and goodpasture have not seen a team like tyner. unless you frustrate them or they just dont show up at all your going to think your playing a college team.and as for the west if milan is half as good as everybody says lewis doesnt have a chance.ive played them too and they cant beat any of the big three in the east.i dont know about milan or mckenzie though. i hope tyner doesnt make me look stupid for hyping them up.but they are the best team ive ever played against. and ive played what went on to be 2a state champs every year for the past three. and itll be 4 unless milan pulls it off.good luck to all but crap im pulling for milan. i hate private schools!

You guys keep talking about Lewis Co. and Mck. They have to make it by either Huntingdon or a very tough Chester Co. Team. Milan has to deal with Carver and most likely Huntingdon again. The semi's in the West will be more competitive than most games across the state all year. I am from Huntingdon and hope they win it, but if Milan makes it, I will defenitely be pulling for them in the Boro, simply because they have a great team too and I respect them for the way they play and they are in West Tn.

quik...I think easton's comment goes back to that age old debate of do private schools have

an advantage over public schools because privates can allegedly "pick & choose, recruit, give

scholarships etc." versus public schools having to play with "what gets off that yellow bus."

It's an argument that won't be setteled in our lifetime.

Are you joking me? private schools, as much as the public schools thinks so, do not recruit. at my school the average length of time a football player has been in the school is 7 years. we have many that have been there since kindergarten. so you want to talk about recruiting? wow thats awesome recruiting if i have ever seen it. no scholarships are given. one particular player works his butt off to pay for his own tuition because his father cannot(see the tennessean for an article). public schools are outcoached, outplayed, outworked often times and they come up with the excuses of recruiting. unless you know for a fact about certain recruiting that is the biggest load of BS i have ever heard. you can gripe all you want, but the fact is you have no basis for those kind of allegations. i know for a fact that at my school our football team works harder than most teams in the state. however, people like to make up excuses. the fact is whoever wins, wins. as far as i can see it there is no debate there are only excuses for being outplayed, outworked, and outcoached.

    • I'm not a Powell grad.  I am a Bearden grad.   My son and daughter are Powell grads.   I did radio play by play for Powell, my last year was 2013. I also did radio play by play for South Doyle, and my last gig was at Maryville before I retired.   My oldest grandson plays in the Karns Middle program, so I see more Karns games than I do Powell these days.  I've been to 3 Powell games since 2013.   I don't have any ties to Powell, haven't since 2013.   No "y'all" there.    And the kid you are talking about does have a very good arm, but he's not the QB that Deuce Rogers is.  Rogers is a legit dual threat guy.  The younger kid now at Clinton, or about to be at Clinton, isn't the dual threat that Rogers is.
    • No sir. I watched it specifically and it was very dirty. He cleated the boy on purpose. Apparently, it’s an issue in football as well from what several schools have said. That said, looking forward to a good game 3. ER hit it well in game 2.
    • He is the transfer. 5star spoke on him in their new qb1 series. Didn’t list em as a transfer but I knew the name
    • Gunner Warren was the second starter, freshman. SP #1 arm impressed me last night.
