OK sports fans look up Jackie Pope from Oak Ridge, while understanding number of games played back in the mid 50's. I think he averaged 20 yds per carry and Oak Ridge won the national Championship. DCCATVOICE has these stats. [help]

Where does Reggie Cobb rate from Knox Central? Part of the Cobb Webb sensation for UT?

Best RBs that I saw play in person (from late 80s to present, mostly East TN):

James Chadwick, Whitwell 92 (probably the best back that you have never heard of. Played vs him in 91 Veterans Bowl @ Sweetwater. Had amazing vision and crazy cutting ability.)

James "Choo, Choo" Parker, South Young/South Doyle 92 (no moves, good power)

Ricky Kirkland, RB/WR, Knox Central 92

Tarvis Cozart, Clinton 92

James "Little Man" Stewart, MoTown West

Dustin Moore, Greeneville

TT Harper, Trousdale 02

Jeffrey Mitchell, Knox Fulton 01

Kippy Bayless, Knox Central 90

Shawn Summers, Oak Ridge 92

Chad Smith, Knox Fulton 94 and, of course, Micaiah Smoker, Knox Fulton 92 (if blocking makes a great RB)

Kendrick Jones, Collierville 01, saw him on tape, while living in the dorm @ UT...pretty raw.

In my opinion some of the best running backs from mid 80's to now are...

Troy Fleming of BGA.... one of my boyz

Reggie Cobb of Knox Central former UT player

Travis Cozart of Lenior City in the mid to late 90's was a great back

Kippy Bayless of Knox Central was a machine

Jeffery Mitchell from Knox Fulton in 2001

DeMarcus Fine of Knox Fulton in 99-00

Demarcus Dixson of Knox Central in 99

Caleob Gaston of Knox Central in 99

Eric Westmoreland of Marion Co. in 95 was the hardest hit I ever felt

And Brain Tate of Knox Fulton in 94-95 could have been the most shifty back you would have ever seen

Holla at cha boy...

scotty witt is by far the best high school running back in the history of the state. his numbers were insane, if he hadnt had to sit out the 2nd half of every game that year, he would definatly be at the top, Jimmy Gaylor had class and wouldnt run up the score

No Particular Order

Troy Fleming (BGA)

Kevin and Keith Cobb (Cleveland)

Shawn Summers (Oak Ridge)

Eric Miller (Oliver Springs)

Eddie Moore (S. Pitt)

Shaun BoHannon (Oak Ridge)

Santonio Beard(Pearl Cohn)

Tommy Bowlin(Jellico)

Josh Sheldon(Representing Coalfield) 2,000 yards senior year

Carl stewart from Maryville. His senior year was so special and there was no telling how many records he could have broke if he would have been in the game longer than the first half. Everytime he played his senior year, with the exception of one or two, he only played limited time untill they put the backups in. I th9ink for the year he averaged like 10 yards a carry and i dunno how many TD's he had
