Toughest Small Team

Riverdale never has a full roster, but they always have great individual wrestlers.

Riverdale has a student population of over 2300, even more than Bradley

When coach Britton was there Riverdale had no problem in filling a team. It may be the coaching.

I think East Ridge is one too. They've always had a student population of about 900 (maybe less), and always seem to do well. But this year graduation hit them hard by graduation 7 seniors. They only have like 9 kids on their roster.

For a small team alcoa does have individual talent. We are also young but growing and have had some pretty good matches for our size, we have improved since we first wrestled greenback

Blackman is one of those teams without a full roster that is doing very well this year! They forfiet 3 weight classes every match and their 215 weighs 182 and thier Heavy weighs 202 on a good day! They have some 1st year wrestlers making great strides everytime they step on the mat! Bunch of great young men with alot of heart!

That is the thing I love about wrestling - it is a team sport and individual sport. I love it! I love hearing stories about teams like Blackman and others. It is sooo cool!

The best answer is FRA (Nashville) which has a student body of @240 boys and girls grades 9-12. FRA has competed successfullly this year under the coaching of Marc Taylor and his able staff. They finished 2nd to Overton in the district defeating Hillsboro on the way to the finals (I think). They also have several individuals that have shots at medals in the D1 state.

FRA is without a doubt the toughest small team. And they don't have a full team, they are lacking a 119. (least I think they are)

I do agree with you in that FRA is by far the best small team, but the school has over 300 total students in grades 9-12, not 240.
