No doubt about it! They only lost to Jesuit because it is a private school. Must be giving out scholarships.

Jesuit is a highschool not a college. Yes, Matt Keller is on scholarship.

I think Keller has moved on from a non-scholarship high school to a scholarship at a public university in Nebraska.

Keller got beat by the Lehigh kid, Ciacculli-(sp). I think he's ranked 13th or so. Keller looked good. He beat good kids from Rider and Arizona State.

Your New Orleans coach may or may not be correct. Jesuit won the State Title something like 20 times straight and I believe Brother Martin has won the last 5.

 

Jesuit's program fell a bit behind. A few years ago they hired Mark Strickland who was a 2 time VA champion at Great Bridge HS, an undefeated JUCO National Champion and wrestled at Oklahoma State for two years.

 

According to the parents...Strickland has the program back on track and they think they can give BM all they want this year.

 

When I compare the results of the Blackhorse and the McCallie Invitational with seeing Jesuit wrestle, I come up with the following;

112 Jesuit

119 Even

130 Jesuit

135 BM

140 Even

145 Jesuit

171 Jesuit
