Tonight (Thursday Jan. 22) at LaVergne, Blackman's Nate Williams will meet LaVergne's Jeff Adcox for the third time this year. Nate is Matman's # 3. Adcox is Matman's # 2. In their first two meetings, Adcox won (1st) in double overtime (had top position), and (2nd) 1 - 0. Williams won the GP Tournament this past weekend, coming from the 5th seeded spot. This match alone may be worth the drive to LaVergne. Wrestling minds, what are the odds on this third match-up of the season?

while in some sports they say it is hard to beat someone multiple times, in wrestling, it's different, even if there close matches. the psycological advantage that one wrestler begins to get over another can be very powerful. i'll take adcox in another close one. delawarr, let us know how it comes out.

I have wrestled them both and had very close matches with both of them. I think that if Williams stays aggressive then he will win because Adcox always wins by stalling the whole match. Williams is a better wrestler, Adcox has just been lucky to beat him the last two times.

Adcox controls and yes Williams is more aggressive. They are so close that it will come down to who wants it most this time.

nununu and wrestler152, you called it. Williams took Adcox 1 - 0. 1st period - no score; 2nd period - Williams maintained control; 3rd period - Williams escaped early in the period. A well-wrestled match.

In their three matches this season, two points separate the score between them. Adcox took the first 1 - 0. Adcox took the second with 2nd overtime criterion. Williams took the third 1 - 0.

Hamm, take note.

From a report that just came through, Williams and Adcox wrestled to another one-point-difference thriller again last night (Thursday). Williams got a takedown during the first period. Adcox pulled off a reversal during the second period. Williams escaped in the third. The match ended 3 - 2, Williams. This was their fourth match of the season. Adcox took the first two. Williams took the last two. These guys seem to be propelling one another in the direction they both want to go. They very well could meet again in the finals of the Region V Tournament in a couple of weeks (assuming they are seeded in opposite semi brackets).
