Alcoa is playing well since Christmas. They avenged their loss to AC in a big way, and beat Maryville also. AE is not nearly as disciplined as Alcoa, and they play so many kids that it seems they struggle to find a groove sometimes. Alcoa is not deep, but they don't seem to wear down easily either and Warren has really came onas a force to be reckoned with. If Alcoa gets into foul trouble they will have a long night, but I see Alcoa winning a close one at home.......

I wonder if playing Fulton last night will take something out of AE. With the comfortable lead (until a late comeback) most players were able to rest though. Alcoa can put a loss on anyone and especially at home. I just think AE is too deep with too many atheletes. Dean and Warren should dominate for Alcoa though and make it awful tough. My boy Al Harris is in full football mode now. He missed like 10 layups last night and got his layup blocked. That never happens. Hes just keeping in shape with some light Road Running. But any night the old Albert could show up and getcha.

Just think what you want. AE will be ready to turn up the heat.

Alcoa is definitely in a groove. They came out tonight shooting great and played with intensity and won the game. A big time three was hit by Toro that absolutely shoved the momentum in Alcoa's favor. Brandon Warren played a great physical game and Derrell dean block some impresive shots. Pasqua and Smith played great gaurd play. The alcoa team is playing great basketball and they came out and just beat AE with rebounds and less turnovers.

Dean and Warren are becoming one of the best big men combos around. That just makes all of their guards that much more dangerous. Toro has seemed to really come on at the right time too.

hey chs, it looks like clinton has a great shot at getting out of your region this year. Go Get it. It really took that game against you all to wake us up and remind us that basketball is fun when you put it all on the line. I still wish all games were like that one.

I dont really want to get into who we can beat or this and that, but with the AE loss it sure appears that AE and Fulton are more vulnerable this year than they have been combined in a long long time. But they both understand what tourney time is about and usually decide to raising the level at that time. We have beat what appears to be #1 alcoa though at their place and then they came to our place and beat us. So we match-up well with anyone as long as we are focused and hit the open looks and rebound.

Just about a month to go...it will be interesting to see how it plays out.

It's like this, AE won't make any excuses but AE and Alcoa is tied for first. Don't just give Alcoa the #1 spot. AE and Alcoa beat each other once this year therefor, there's a 2 way tie for the #1 spot

    • Defending 2A state Champs Westview Lady Chargers are pretty tough. They lost a bunch of production off last year's squad but returned some talent as well. They still McCall Simms, a Tennesseee Lady Vol softball commit as well as solid talent around the diamond. I dont think they are as good as last season but they will definitely be a tough out. Huntingdon Lady Mustangs seem to be pretty stout as well. Don't know much about Riverside other than Westview defeated them earlier in regions. West Tennessee softball is pretty solid all around id say.
    • Eagleville couldn’t catch up to Jones, he did have his location issues but in that game Eagleville popped up everything and the one hit they did have could have been ruled an error. Jeffcoat was a lot sharper in the beginning of the season last year than the end. ER ran out of pitching and still was in striking distance but none the less the better team one. Last seasons tournament was A LOT more balanced and talented. South Pitts starter is a Lefty who was low 80’s but couldn’t maintain his velo throughout the  outing, their #2 was more impressive last year, we knocked him around this year and his mph was down some. Their #3 isn’t bad neither, throws a lot of strikes and sits high 70’s.
    • He actually had a really solid spring.  I could see him getting some backup snaps on offense and be a regular on special teams.  Really athletic kid who can run.
    • Heard Seq has gotten a lot stronger this off season. Can’t wait to see how the boys do this year
