Jackson County visits Clay Co on Friday, as we all know Clay Co. is one of the favorites to win their district and they have a very deep and talented team this year. Does anyone think Jackson County has a chance to go into Clay Co. and pull out a victory? The key to the game will be shutting down Chase Stephens, and so far no one has been able to do that this year, however JC is starting to put up some pretty good numbers, so i think the game will be a close one. Whats everyone else think?

i think jackson county should be the favorite, so yes they should stand a chance, really it should be the other way around does Clay County stand a chance, and yes i think so, i think they both match up well against each other, could come down to free throw shooting or who ever has the hot hand shooting from the outside. Celina wins 79-72 if they are shooting well from the outside and make their free throws, Jackson County wins 72-67 if they are able to beat the press and make free throws. If both teams are able to handle these things, i think Clay County wins in a close ever so close one 73-72 because of the home court.

    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
    • He was pretty darn good for a freshman, but he will have a hard time seeing the field at Oakland for a good while, I’m afraid.
    • Dang I feel bad for the kid. I’m sure he loves his dad and wants to do anything for his dad but I don’t think he realizes his dad isn’t doing the best for his football career if he keeps jumping schools.
    • I’m not taking shots at the kid, but “athlete” is not something I would use to describe him. He was a long, lengthy, defensive back
    • Mistakes like that should never happen.
