Hammontree to Rhea County

Read in today's Knoxville Sentinel that Tim Hammontree was returning to Tennessee to coach at Rhea County.

 

Anybody surprised? I was a little surprised to see his record (22-29) at North Gwinnett. What was that program like when he got there I wonder? Must have been in massive rebuilding stage. I haven't seen their season by season records since he arrived. Anybody followed what his team did while he was there?

I think he's staying on as an assistant coach. I think he is good friends with his old coach!

What was Rhea County's record under Fitzgerald? Was he pressured out of his job? I thought he did a good job, thought his team was well coached.

No surprize about Hammontree, he was at Rhea as an assistant under the late Bill Horton for a long time before taking the Maryville job. I never heard anything about Fitzgerald though.
