We always only had like 14 players tops, we had a couple quit and two go to college and just couldn't keep it together.

Also, I hate to say it but CCS' talent is nowhere near Baylor's or McCallie's. True Drew Courtney is strong and Gabe is pretty good. However, any of the players on McCallie's varsity roster could probably start for CCS. Talent is not just who has the best three players it is from the roster, top to bottom.

That is where i believe McCallie ahs an edge over CCS especially, and in my opinion Baylor. We don't lose much when we go to the bench except in the goal b/c Trey is the best player at his position in Chattanooga, in my opinion top 4 in the state.

It's a toss up between Drew and Jake for best position player in the city. Also, there's no way that any Mccallie varsity player would start for CCS. Last year, CCS had far more talent Mccallie. We also lost a whole lot more, but we are still 14 deep (at least) of quality players. Our pool of male students is about 1/3 of that of Mccallie, which explains the amount of players. Mccallie has at least two full teams, and maybe even a third. CCS has to swing players to make two teams.

hmm...i think that Drew Haskins might be the only player that would not start on CCS

    • What’s sad Barney is the cards in the deck are stacked against them.  With the success the MAVS are having just down I-75, any talented players are heading that way. I always said what the Price twins did there was second to none, making the playoffs and winning a playoff game is the ceiling there. On a great year, maybe a q-final appearance but that is a big stretch.  Finding a coach there is very tough. I feel for the new coach, he’s in a very bad situation and I’m not sure he even realizes it. I understand he wants to be positive and have hope, but I don’t see them scratching a win. Maybe he will prove me wrong.
    • I agree, 2A is the only class in thet state where the west side of the bracket is tougher, not taking anything away from Marion county at all but they should run that side for years to come
    • Should be a big week in Dayton coming up with the 100th anniversary of the Scopes Monkey Trial.
    • AE has a lot of new transfers and a very good incoming freshman class to mess with the current players.  That's why I'm saying don't sleep on AE.  Many are thinking they can't get back to their winning ways but I think this 2025 team will open a lot of eyes and let the state know, AE won't be an easy win anymore.
