I'm sure all of Tennessee high school sport patrons are keeping the Pitts family in their prayers. Add my family to the list, we will be praying for a quick recovery for his daughter. What a great role model Coach Pitts is for young men, God bless him and his family.

I will spread the word in Knoxville.... George was a neighbor, friend and teammate. He also coached my brother's team to the state finals at South-Young years ago.

Does anyone know the nature of the illness? If it is too personal to disclose - I certainly understand and don't want to invade the family's privacy.

Our thoughts and prayers will be with the Pitt's family!

She was in a very serious automobile accident. I understand she is stable, and her condition is improving. Coach Pitts was gone all week, but back on Friday for the MBA game.

His daughter was in a very serious car accident and she is now recovering. She has undergone a few surgeries. She still lives in Johnson City so Coach Pitts has been commuting back and forth from Nashville. She still has few underlying problems but is expected a full recovery in the long run. My family and I are to see her on Wedensday. Coach Pitts has been a friend of my family and a Coach to my Brother in the BACK-TO-BACK State Titles. Thank you all for the prayers for a dear friend of our family.

    • It is what it is. Sorry DFL.
    • One of the biggest loosing teams in Mid-State are the Macon County Tigerettes. I have noticed that the roster is smaller than in the years past. All the senior's have quit. We have a great group of Jr High players coming up. I sure hope they don't loose them, like they have lost so many others this year. With this young group of girls coming up, a weaker district, they should have no problem going to State.
    • It was updated this season, because I did it.  Linder is the school's all-time leading rusher at 5,156 yards with 2,436 of those coming in 2014.
    • Oh, I’m sure you did. Maybe you heard just a rumor, but considering we have a football practice field and a soccer field that’s frequently used for lacrosse games and practices, I highly doubt it. Let me change that. I know for a fact that didn’t happen.   Glad you finally stopped attacking a bunch of high school students, but still obsessed with the coaching staff for some unknown reason, even though you could name more than three (at most) coaches without looking it up. But now come up with something else.
    • You really mean the Price twin boys and Lyin Larry.
