I think that Summertown will win in a very close game. They are playing some really good basketball right now and are going to be hard to beat. I do expect Edney to go off the wall though. She has been contained the past 3 or 4 games and I think she will have a big night. I also expect them to try and contain Weatherly because she has been killing everyone that she has played against here lately. Perry County has a whole lot of talent (some of the best Sophomores in the state) but Summertown (who was expected by most people to finish fourth or below) has won the Season crown and I think they would want nothing more than to win the Tournament too. You also have to look at Perry County. They led the District as the #1 team throughout the entire season until the last game when Summertown beat Wayne County. They would want nothing more than to take back that glory by winning the Tournament. There is no telling really, but I think that as good as Summertown is playing right now, they will win in a cat fight.

wildcats101 could there be a little jealousy? Maybe....???

I think the game will be real intense. Both teams will be well prepared because they both have real good coaches. Perry County is depending on their sophmores once again. Can they take the pressure since they are so young? Summertown will have to depend on their good defense if they want to win. I will say PC by 2 (only if their sophmores can take the pressure and the rest of their players play to their potential)

Not jealousy, but hostility. Not many people from WC have gotten over the way that PC acted last year at the districts. You know PC cutting couches in the locker room, their superintendent and ex-assistant coach trying to fight with an 11 year old kid. Talk about classy. But, most Rhodes are that way, I hate that Joe got mixed up with them. Maybe he'll be able to find a job elsewhere since they were nice enough not to fire him.

District 12A MVP, Megan Corbin (according to my sources), will have to prove why she deserves this award in what is sure to be a dogfight Thursday night. Look for her to perform well as usual, but she'll need help from Lovett, Franks, and Scott to pull off the win. Perry Co. will have homecourt advantage which is huge at this point. The super sophomores will have to play well, which means:

1. Rhodes will have to take care of the ball. She has turned the ball over alot as of late.

2. Edney has got to take (and make) the outside shots.

3. Weatherly has got to keep her temper under control and stay out of foul trouble.

If those 3 can play to their potential and both Elkins and Gladden can contribute their usual 7 - 10+ ppg, look for the Lady Vikings to take their first district championship in a long, long time. All in all, it should be another great 12A tournament game, and despite the outcome of this game, this has been one great tournament.

both stown and pc are very good teams and very well coached. good luck to them both. this will be the first dist. tourney championship in a long time for either squad as Wayne Co. has won the last 10 consecutive dist. tourneys. before this year, wc's last dist. tourney loss was in 1993 when they were undefeated and upset by the stown eaglettes in the finals. once again, good luck to both teams. hope it is as great a game as everyone is expecting!

    • Eagleville hosting shows laziness on the part of the TSSAA and a complete disregard for the appearance of impartiality. Absolutely nothing against EHS. Its not their fault TSSAA is lazy.    I understand EHS staff work the games at Eagleville, and they don’t want to miss the EHS games. However this isn’t rocket science. It would take less than 1 hour to cross-train EHS and RHS volunteers at the opposite sites. If Eagleville (or any host)  makes the tournament, flip their game site and have the volunteers flip sites for the days their school plays at the opposite site. Magically the school’s fans would be present to watch the their kids play and the kids at least lose some familiarity and home field advantage.  It takes almost no effort and is a ~15 minute extra drive.
    • We feel the pain!
    • Jason Lambert should be the only choice for the Baseball coaching position.
    • From the stats I found online it looks like Gabe Eddington- .484, 44 total hits, 43 runs scored and 42 stolen bases.Meanwhile, on the mound, the Austin Peay commit had a record of 8-2, while compiling 50 innings pitched with an ERA of 1.82. Carson Parrott - 7-0 overall as a starting pitcher with a 1.41 ERA, 95 strikeouts and a save in 53 and 1/3 innings pitched. Parrott hit .392 with 3 home runs, 21 RBIs with a .566 OBP and .716 SLG. Jaxon Walker - .454, 53 hits, 38 RBI’s, 9 HRs.   Not saying the other three aren’t deserving but Quillen had better BA than all three and was just as dominate pitching.  Like I said I don’t know how you leave off the 3a Baseball player of the year last year when he put up better numbers.  I know Greeneville’s Coach wasn’t happy about it saying “I don’t give a s*** what anybody else says. That kid is the best player in Tennessee, and everybody else on our team rises to his level“.  I’m sure winning another State Championship as a junior is more important to Carson than the individual award, it’s just a head scratcher to not be nominated
