Alex Crabtree from McCallie, when Trey got hurt he stepped in and has made some amazing saves. The only thing holding him back from being one of the top two or three goalies in state is his size.

I would give an Amen! to that one. Alex is playing incredibly well. All of those shutouts on the JV team two years ago set the stage. He is very physical and makes good decisions. Trey had better watch his backside.

Elam is not playing anywhere? is he still going to Bearden? or did he transfer to heritage like everyone thought in preseason?

Not sure Staynskool. Just know that he doesn't play anywhere. If he did, Bearden would have a much better chance of beating Farragut this year. Oh well...

I've got to mention Catholic's Mike Pierce. He's had seven shutouts and only 5 goals allowed in 10 games. Last year as a sophomore he played midfield. He took over for senior All-Region keeper Dan Sheridan when Dan had surgery.

I agree that Mike Pierce has really stepped it up for Catholic. Not many keepers could come back after being inactive for a few years, and put up the stats that he has so far this season.

Will Walton out of BGA is more than solid. I've seen some good saves in my day, never as good as some of his though.

I agree with TheMyth wholeheartedly. Will Walton is a man amongst boys when it comes to the finest keepers in the state. He's being sought by a number of overseas professional clubs for their development programs including: Manchester United, Arsenal, and Juventus just to name a few. Walton is a wizard between the pipes, letting only .01 goals through the wickets per game throughout his career.
