flyswatter
it is not fair for the reg. 1A tournament to be held at hancock county high school. the games should be played at a neutral site. it is a very dangerous road getting there and no one should get to play every game from the district tournament all the way through sub-state at home. tssaa should have stepped in and stopped this situation. the sub-state is a reward for the team that wins the regional. but to play every game at home is crazy. i felt sorry for Cloudland last night. they traveled over 3 hours by bus and had to play a team in their back yard. hancock county could wind up playing every tournament game at home without ever having to leave to advance to the state. face it tssaa, your system of fair play has failed you this time. paintwatcher
It is the exact same way in Region 2. Rockwood hosted the District and Regional Tournaments this year. Some people may think it isn't fair. But the games still have to be played. The goals are still 10 ft. high. People put too much bearing on things that really don't matter. What matters is who scores more points. That means you win. Besides teams take turns hosting the regional and district tournaments every year. It was Hancock's turn. flyswatter
it had been held at lmu and milligan college on a rotating basis each year. never has it been held on a home teams floor. i would be willing to bet that this will be the last year that you will see this. tssaa is getting ready to get flooded with letters and phone calls on this matter. i agree the goals are 10 feet and the floor the same length. yes the games have to be played. but the distance and time of travel is too long. the roads are unsafe and some kids have gotten sick having to travel on the crooked roads. it should be held in Greeneville somewhere with motels and restaurants where fans and players can eat and stay overnight. XtremeLoco
Looks like a fan is upset his team got put out by the host team. I mean come on, Home Court is all mental, if your team was good enough they would have wom last night. Last year in Region 2, Midway was the host and they didn't win, year before the host didn't win...in fact I can't the last time a host team won in Region 2. Maybe you should just admit the better team won, If i can remember Cloudland was complaining last week that they got cheated by the refs, now its because they had to play the Host team? Come on people grow up and admit defeat.

XtremeLoco
Hey Paint and Loco ~ Luvsbballs team is still in it. Which team is that?
chill
This is a silly thread. Most regions rotate on a yearly basis who will host the region touney. Why would a district that will host the region not also want their district at the same place where they would have a decided advantage over the other district by playing the week before at the same site. It will be the other district's turn to return the favor the next year. That's the way it works in most regions. Most do not play on a neutral site except a few in the Upper East. If Rockwood wins the region they would have had the district, region, and substate at home. This is a common practice the TSSAA is aware of, so don't be surprised if nothing changes. I like Xtremeloco's explanantion of why this thread was started......

luvsbball
I think sportiemom must still be dizzy from the drive up the mountain. I think flyswatter said that and I don't have a clue who that is. But my team is the mighty RANGERS.....
thewarlord
LMU is J. Frank White's home court, so it never really has been on a neutral floor when District 2 is hosting. Nobody complained because JFW has not been a powerhouse like Hancock.
