For those questioning if S'town's gym is large enough to host.

Prior to this season, a school had to seat 1,500 to host Sub-State/Sectional in any classification. If S'town had won the Region in 2003, we could not have hosted.

In the Summer of 2003, the TSSAA changed the requirement to only 1,000 for Class A schools. S'town's gym seats around 1,100, so it qualifies.

For S'town to win this one, we'll have to shoot alot better than we have of late. Too many "wasted" possessions in the District & Region. Returning to the friendly confines of home may help this (I hope). Also, FRA may have trouble adjusting to the tight confines of the SHS gym floor. Those sidewalls cause nightmares for visiting teams that are not accustomed to them.

Good Luck Eagles !!

I don't really know enough about Summertown to make a prediction one way or another, but I doubt FRA will have much trouble with Summertown's gym. They played there last year, and honestly FRA has played much better on the road this season than at home. I have a feeling that they will be focused and ready to play, regardless of the small floor. It should be a good atmosphere for both teams though, because everyone knows Summertown's gym can't really hold a 1,000. B ready to be packed in for what should be a great game!

Ok, Big48Eagle, last post

State Championships: (all sports)

District 9- 49 District 10-14 (and 10 of those are Davidson's)

Ezell- 16 NCS- 0

See it's so easy when you do things by the numbers. And hey, if it's the highlight of your life that the two best teams in NCS history barely beat the two worst teams in Ezell history then that's great man.

If the fact that the two best teams in NCS history STILL couldn't make it to Mufreesboro doesn't bother you than that's great.

Bottom line

District 9 (For real) District 10 (not for real)

(not to mention you make the whole darn region look bad in football.

Nobody can make our region look bad, considering all 8 teams are together and 4 of them are usually pretty good. Once again, only a history lesson. How about one for you???

Ezell 5-star recruits- 84

NCS recruits- 0

Let's take this thread back to FRA/Summertown and not let the big 'gina that is RealGoEagles ruin it. I think Summertown is a good team, having only seen them in the summer. They shoot the ball well and do have a decent big guy that looks like #11 from FRA, only taller. If FRA slows the game down and holds the ball with a lead, it will benefit them greatly. If they try and run around with Summertown, they will have a hard time keeping up i think. Good luck to both teams. I'm picking S-town in thebigones, but I don't really care. Represent Region 5 well FRA.

OK, now back to SHS-FRA....:

Both teams have had great seasons. I know little about SHS, but I can tell you that FRA has been playing some of its baest ball in the past few weeks, so although Im sure FRAs the underdog in this (they always are), I like them in this game. I think the game is going to be won by the team that focuses more and wants it more. I dont think theres one team of these2 that can walk out of there victorious by playing halfheartedly. Good Luck

    • Defending 2A state Champs Westview Lady Chargers are pretty tough. They lost a bunch of production off last year's squad but returned some talent as well. They still McCall Simms, a Tennesseee Lady Vol softball commit as well as solid talent around the diamond. I dont think they are as good as last season but they will definitely be a tough out. Huntingdon Lady Mustangs seem to be pretty stout as well. Don't know much about Riverside other than Westview defeated them earlier in regions. West Tennessee softball is pretty solid all around id say.
    • Eagleville couldn’t catch up to Jones, he did have his location issues but in that game Eagleville popped up everything and the one hit they did have could have been ruled an error. Jeffcoat was a lot sharper in the beginning of the season last year than the end. ER ran out of pitching and still was in striking distance but none the less the better team one. Last seasons tournament was A LOT more balanced and talented. South Pitts starter is a Lefty who was low 80’s but couldn’t maintain his velo throughout the  outing, their #2 was more impressive last year, we knocked him around this year and his mph was down some. Their #3 isn’t bad neither, throws a lot of strikes and sits high 70’s.
    • He actually had a really solid spring.  I could see him getting some backup snaps on offense and be a regular on special teams.  Really athletic kid who can run.
    • Heard Seq has gotten a lot stronger this off season. Can’t wait to see how the boys do this year
