bigbadblue
I've always wondered this; but, unfortunately, I am too young to have seen enough baseball to answer this question: What was the all time best high school baseball team in the state of Tennessee (in your opinion, of course)??? I've been told a few...Knox Central circa 91 (Helton's junior year, I believe). Two MLB players, a few in the minors. Farragut 2003. Germantown 1995 (I think). Oakland 1999, 2000 (I think). Also, i think it was Unicoi County that had a run in the eighties. Late sixties, Franklin Co (I think). Phillip Fulmer was the catcher...as the story goes, and I may screw it up, hit a walkoff homerun to win the championship. Anyhoo...wanted to get some other stories/opinions. SOSASLAM
I would have to say the Oakland teams would have to definitely be way up there. Their P was outstanding.
bizazz
With the quality of Tennessee baseball improving across the state, Farragut's 2003 team deserves serious consideration. They took on anyone who would play them and fashioned a 48-1 record. I think they scored less than 5 runs only 2 or 3 times.
Guesswho?
Yeah 2003 Farraguts team was the best I have ever seen. Its going to be hard to top that kind of season they had
bizazz
I would have loved to have seen Todd Helton's Central team face off against last year's Farragut team.

Farrfan
If you look at the state records for all of the Tennessee teams one thing that stands out is how dominating Farragut was for both offensive and defensive (including pitching) statistics. No other team has shown this, some may have had a good year Offensively or some may have had a good year Pitching but no one seemed to put it together at the same time until Farragut's team last year. I think this makes a good arguement for "Best Team Ever".
GradfromtheNest
I can't stand them, but look up Chattanooga Central back in the last several decades. Their should be some record of games back then on TSSAA or somewhere. They had several state championships in several years. Let me know if you find anything.
