jeb
You have got to be kidding ! The JC Press overlooked this one badly Matt Buchanan from Tennessee High School should be at the top of this list . He was first team all conference. Missing player of year by one vote. He was All District team. 2nd year in a row. He was All Region team. 2nd year in a row. He lead the Vikings in scoring. Scored over 1,000 pts. in basicaly two years of varsity play. He lead the conference in 3's (% wise and totals). He was the clutch guy when the team needed him. Battled hard all year with defence and offence. Shew ! how could the JC Press miss so badly. sballer101
Nice team, but what about Joe Brown from Sullivan Central??? This kid does not get the recognition he deserves. Without him, the Cougars would not have gotten out of the district.
chill
Joe Brown was the main reason Sullivan Central had a chance in the substate game at Fulton. He's a solid player and could be part of this list as well as Buchanon......
skunk
My first comment when I saw the J.C Press team was, where is Matt Buchanan? No doubt he is a deserving of First Team. Buchanan is the complete package as a player and proved it all year. I will not say those listed aren't deserving of recognition, but Buchanan is a first team player. jeb
Hey Skunk! I'm with you on this one. Seems as though the JC Press had their head in the sand. Buchanan a great all around player.
tnhighfan
No doubt buchannan should have been on the team. But what about Deshaud Johnson or Bryan Terrill as the most promising underclassmen? Johnson came in and took over at point with no varsity experience at all. Terrill was a clutch player in THS' biggest games. THS wouldn't have been a conference contender without these two players. How could the JC press forget? Magnus
I agree about the kid from TN High. That's ridiculous! I also thought Jacob Frazier from Volunteer should have made the second team. He averaged 15 ppg. And Charles Lindholm was more deserving of player of the year in my opinion than Jarome Odem. But he is a local boy. Congratulations to all players. Magnus
Joe Brown was also very deserving of this award. He is one of the best shooters in the area.
ArtVandalay
The JC Press Team = Doug Fritz's opinion.. That explains why this team is nowhere close to being right.
NETNcritic
Look at the first team. Analyse the last two players of Estep and Whaley. They are within the area. Favorites? There might be some bias in the Press' decision. Look at the second team. There are four post players and only one guard. What's wrong with this picture?
