Thank you that is the same thing i was thinking, do u know if it says that anywhere online on a TSSAA site so that i can print it and show it to our AD and then he can use it to prove our point

I know of a BA player 2 or 3 years ago that received a red card and he was only out one game.

From the NFHS web site:

Profanity – The NFHS Soccer Rules Committee recognizes that many state associations have adopted a zero tolerance policy. The committee continues to encourage each state association to implement policies that address this important issue.

Great! Where is the written policy we are supposed to go by? This would seem to say that the policy has to be across the board and apply to all sports. TSSAA could not legally write a policy that would single out soccer. I can't wait to see how many football players get tossed this fall!

"Also, if you are a high school ref and do not call what the TSSAA says should be a yellow card you should not be allowed to officiate."

This comment ignores the fact that TSSAA does not give clear written policy on the foul language call. I am a USSF ref. I don't do TSSAA matches and won't until they adopt FIFA rules. I will not run a DUAL nor will I ever give a football offsides signal. I will card any player who directs abusive language at another person whether any of the seven dirty words are used or not. I do speak to players when I hear profanityas an expletive. That seems to take care of things and we play on.

Hey Stevescarb,

I appreciate your stand on foul and abusive language. My question is do you think high school or for that matter college will ever go to Fifa rules? Wouldn't there have to be several modifications including the substitution rule? Without a modification for extra substitutions, the chance of switching is slim and none.

The sub rule has exceptions for lower levels and allows unlimited subs if so designated. Our state orginization gets to choose what rules it will use. We need to push to go FIFA or actually USSF would be the proper designation. Several States already use USSF rules. We need Soccer people making the decisions at our State level. Get behind it and lets get this changed! Call your district Rep and lay the grounwork for next year. I have.
