QB. Cade Thompson will be one of the best in the state.

WR. Andrew Clement will be a premier receiver. I expect Steven Childs to make an impact at Maryville.

RB. Before the year is over everyone will know who Adrian Baker is. Ryan Tallent will make a huge impact this year.

Other standouts at QB in 4A are Zach Helton of Knox Central. Does the quarterback at Chatt Central come back? He was a good player.

Another standout receiver in 4a is Lee Smith of Powell.

Other standout running backs in 4A are Abdul Henderson of Knox West and Daniel Ewing of MOWest.

i agree with rebel ron on adrian baker, but the ewing kid from mo-west?? you got to be kidding! he seems pretty slow if you ask me. he probably will be a descent full back to blow some holes for #25 james. if james touches the ball a lot this season, which im told he definantly will, watch out! some records will fall! another kid to watch is major canty from bristol :)

Being the Region 5-4A guy that I am, I have to give some props to Dee Rucker at QB and Antonio Lewis at RB for Hillwood. Both of those kids are incredibly quick and talented.

Also, just because Hillsboro may not have the big names they have had the past few years, don't think they don't still have a ton of talent. Kevin McCants, Jr. is a great runningback.

Another couple of kids to watch are Jarred Frazier at QB and Kameron Porter at RB for Shelbyville. Frazier is also a tremendous safety, and is the MidTNsports preseason offensive player of the year. Porter is just a sophomore, but is really good.

Our region doesn't throw the ball a lot, but If I had to pick one kid that would catch that big third down pass over the middle, it would be Ben Edwards of Tullahoma. 6'3", 200 with great hands.

I have been hearing alot of big things about this Terrance Scott kid from Knox Central, but who is recruiting him... No Division 1 teams are recruiting him, also he is not is the top 100 prospects in Tennessee or top 30 prospects in Knoxville... So if you got some info on him, I would like to know who is recruiting him...

Also at QB Zach Helton of Knox Central is one of the best in the State but I think his size might hurt him in the long run... I also heard Zach Helton is wanting to transfer out of Central and go to Powell... I was wanting if anyone else has heard anything about this...

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
