This is expected of course. I just skimmed the article very fast and didn't notice a replacement. Is there one and I just missed it? If not, who might it be? This might be the worst time for him to leave with RHS just now about to turn it up... but his son is much more important so I understand.

I think read that it was all lined up from the beginning for his top assistant to take the football job...don't know about the AD role. Where do you think Coach Daniels will end up in 18 months? He's a good man, and a fine coach.

That's right... I just re-read the article and the assistant coach is taking over. Daniels also said that after the 17 months he'd like to be in one of three places. A private school, Georgia, or East Tennessee. Hmm, Flatt will probably be retiring again soon... hmmmm.

That's not likely. I think the succession plan is pretty well in place at BA as well. It would be interesting to see what an offense-minded coach like Jack would do with the program, but IMHO, it won't happen.

Itzme, who will be coronated successor to the throne when "King Carlton" decides to abdicate his whistle and stocking cap?

I don't have any inside information at all, so it's just total speculation on my part. Coach Flatt will retire when he wants to, and the longer he stays on, the better I like it. He's a good man, with the best interests of his students always placed first.

When he does step down, I think the likely candidates will be from other DII schools...there are a lot of BA alums and ex-coaches out there.

From the first time we stepped on the field in 2002, Coach rector has ran the show... Coach Daniels has been good to us in helping us set up our program and installing his offense... Knowing him personally, he has told me he is just going to teach at Ravenwood but he will be in charge of Brentwoods film... He wants to watch his son play, so that is the reason he is resigning from AD... his heart is still at Brentwood... he always says to me he hops we go 12-2 next year losing to brentwood in the regular season and playoffs

    • We could sure use some math teachers country wide. Ever go into a store or restaurant and the bill comes to $9.97 and you give them a ten dollar bill and 2 pennies because you wanted a nickle back and then the meltdown starts and the next thing two more people have to come and help figure it out and the place comes to a complete halt. I see this everyday and it's a sad representation of all these schools allowing these kids out the door to get shortchanged the rest of their life.
    • I like the Pirates chances. I’ll be there as soon as work allows.
    • Stars, I heard we were searching far and wide for some math teachers. Any chance their kids bench press or 40 times are getting checked? LOL I’ve heard good things from 825.
    • I think it was expected. “Bad” luck I guess to get a couple difference maker QBs in the same class. I thought the decision was made a little early myself, but they were struggling offensively last year.  I assume the running quarterback alco had last year would be a senior this fall, and the transfer would start the following two years in addition to getting a ton of playing time this year. Maybe he waits two yrs, but I doubt it. The kid is good. So is the one who stayed.
    • I'm from Cloudland and we've never played a sectional game.  We need to win tomorrow night to avoid that bus ride.  Us and north greene can play with you guys so I'm expecting good games whoever the matchup is.
