i agree that the knox area is definitely the best region for soccer right now. we will see how they do in the tourney though. WuSoccer i think we heard u the first time when u said that cleveland isnt as good as they used to be because they lost some key players. umm get over ok! oh and baylor might be a top 25 but not a top three. they arent even ranked in DII on soccerinfo.com. but they are definitely one of the better teams.

What i was referring to wasnt the seniors of the 2001 and 2002 years but i was referring to two of the freshmen, who were starters on the region champs 2001 and district champs 2002 teams. If they had those two guys and then another guy would be senior this year who switched to Cleveland after 2002. Thats all i was meaning.

it is surprising to see how the chattanooga area has slipped compared to knoxville....i always felt that the two were on fairly equal terms....however, a decent knoxville team would be a good chattanooga team today....and a good chattanooga team would struggle against the good knoxville teams.

also after reading that the national trend in high school is public ed, it is not surprising to see the once soccer dominating private schools giving ground to public schools....just my observations....good luck to all

The Knoxville area's rise over the last several years is directly linked to the player development success of the two big Knoxville-based clubs over that same period. TVFC Diadora Impact and Smoky Mountain SC have had real good success for the last 3 or 4 years in club soccer. Last year they won all three of the top National Cup championships (U-19 SMSC Arsenal, U-18 SMSC Select and U-17 Diadora Impact). I think Knoxville will remain strong as long as its clubs continue to cooperate and develop players. Impact actually just merged with another program and opened a Tri-Cities branch in conjunction with some upper-East college coaches. That's good news for JC, Bristol and Kingsport as well.

    • Im asking everyone to keep roy whited and his family in your prayers. Coach whited won back to back state championships at white county in 98-99. He is very well liked and respected in this area. For those of you that dont know he went missing 3 days ago. No one knows where he is. His truck was found in a rural part of the county. Thanks again. We are all very concerned.
    • West would be a good team to get behind if they can pull it off again like last year. That championship game last year was awesome.
    • I say that because he stepped out of a MUCH better situation on his own than he would see at least his first 3 years at DCA and it would take at least that much to bring him back to coaching. There are other fish in the sea, but again money talks. Need to fix the girls hoops too. Now I'll try again. Who has Pierce locked in for his staff? Hearing a McGavock man but not the Iceman.
    • I’ve heard mostly good things from the gridiron. Lots of optimism. It sounds like the portal has mostly helped, though there are a few expected defections. Comeback year!
    • Rudesell 1 year at Crockett. Coach Tate 2 weeks a Bradford. South Gibson supposedly going with jcs middle school coach. Which isn’t who I thought would get it, I know the top 2 was between him and Obion girls head coach.
