Lavergne hasn't gone all out yet, either. This is going to be a good race...how many teams (if any) go under 8:00 in the Memphis sun?

~justme~, it should be noted that the people talking trash for Oak Ridge were not on the team. None of the team members had anything to do with it and they actually wanted all the chatter to die down. I still obviously think they will win the race though. I think it will be a great race, but I think that the fact that OR has Matt Hudson running the last leg is a huge advantage. Good luck to everyone.

Mr. Rang:

I'm glad you said that, since, if I had been able to get my new account working, I would've said the same thing a few days ago. That really is a pretty straight group of guys who don't particularly like to talk smack to other teams.

It's pretty sweet to replace a 2:02 runner with a sophomore 2:02 runner--or maybe better on Friday. And you're right: I'd have Hudson anchor my 4x8 any day. He's about ripe for something big. He may need it, as there seem to be several teams capable of cracking 8:00 in AAA.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
