Besides the Ruddle kid, who is an outstanding QB. Who does Wayne Co. have returning? Mt. Pleasant has the most speed and the best skill position people in the region and from what I saw in the spring they will have a much improve def. and off. line. But remember in Region 6 their can always be some surprises. Who could be the surprise?

MP thumped Eagleville in their scrimmage and that was without six starters that were playing baseball in the state tournament, the QB,FB,Slotback,Center,a wideout and a lineman. also a back up QB . If Eagleville says they didn't get thumped they weren't at the scrimmage.

Eaglevile did not get thumped and I was their. The first two periods with starters was tied 3 tds to 3 tds. In fact Mt. Pleasant did not score in the second period. The third period with starters Mt. Pleasant scored twice and Eagleville did not score. Eagleville Definitely held their own the first two periods. Eagleville also had two starting lineman and a runningback out. I do believe Mt. Pleasant with their tremendous speed and much improve line play will be the team to watch in region 6. I do guarantee you that Eagleville will be no doormat, playoffs are definitely a possibility.

gofor, I have to agree, Eagleville will be no doormat. If your defense steps it up a notch, you guys will be hard to beat. I thought your offense last year was pretty good, but your defense lacked some. Good luck this year. As far as MP, they will be tough. There are gonna be some great games this year. Too bad we have to wait. Football should last as long as NBA basketball. lol

I don't think Eagleville got a 1st down agianst MP's 1st defense. They did get one score off a MP fumble. They will get another chance about the 4th wk of the season when both teams have all their players, its hard to tell much about a scrimmage sometimes for that reason(missing players).

    • Never said I thought it was a smart decision. I'm scratching my head at it too.
    • If he wanted to play QB he should have either went to Heritage or William Blount and had a real good chance there. In stead he'll be exactly what he was going to be at Maryville. They already know who their QB is going to be in 2025 and it ain't going to be him.
    • Easier said than done. The man who ran for 250+ yards and 3TDs is gonna be back….and a lot bigger.
    • plus it removes the pressure around winning.
    • You are correct.   The teacher's pay scale is virtually the same in Knox County, now, as it is at Oak Ridge.   The coaching supplements are still higher at Oak Ridge, from what I was told, but not a huge difference.   Plus, Rusty is going from a position coach to an OC position, which is what he was at South Doyle and where his comfort zone is.  And from a special education teaching slot to a PE teaching slot.  There is a lot of positivity in that move without even considering the coaching aspect.   Anybody who sees something negative here is just looking for negativity to begin with.  But some live in that world.   Really good hire for Brent.  He now has two experienced and quality coordinators and can concentrate on being a head football coach.
