Where is Clinton's old Coach?

Catlett is the d-cord at webb. I know this b/c my brother coaches for webb. He was here for the spring and he will be here for the summer and the fall. Sometimes people get webb and west mixed up.

My buddy coaches at West and said Catlett pulled one of his old tricks. He accepted the DCoord. position and two days later said he was going to Webb then turns out he accepted a teaching position at Powell. Don't really understand why b/c Powell doesn't have any coaching vancancies. Maybe boosters are paying tab? Catlett has developed quite a reputation for leading people in one direction and going another for his own agenda. He should have explored his options but to lead people on is wrong and he's done it more than once. It wouldn't surprise me if he told Webb he'd be their and Powell both to save spots until he decides for sure. I'm sure he is a good Defensive coach but how about some character. Told Carter people he wasn't going to Clinton and went. "Stopped" coaching HIS team in the middle of a season. Just too many examples of character flaws.

I think that msgov's hub is is correct. Copy specialist and former coach Chad Gibson has confirmed that Catlettt has taken the D-Coordinator job at West High School. West has landed a defensive guru. Best of luck to Catlett. I'm sure that the West community will take him in MUCH better than the Clinton commnunity did.

Clinton didn't appreciate the coach they had. My hope is that Coach Shattuck doesn't get the same treatment.

In my high school career the football team won 7 games...That's a four-year record of 7-32. Sounds to me like it's time for a change. If Shattuck wins he'll get good treatment, isn't that how it is everywhere? I hope Catlett does do well, wherever he's going to be at.

There are no slots at Powell. The hiring of Daryle Smith in the off season filled out the staff.

Is it possible that coach cattlett could be teaching at powell and coaching at webb? webb has more than one coach who does not teach there, why is this such a mystery?

I know for a fact that according to human resources for Knox County Schools that Catlett called and accepted a teaching position at Powell. They were even surprised because he had talked with them first about West. Again, it wouldn't surprise me if he has told Webb and Powell he will be their until he makes his final decision. He seems to not mind that others are trying to get their coaches lined up. He has his own agenda and doesn't seem to care if it puts others in a bind. My friend said Coach Cummings at West was pretty upset b/c he had already told two other candidates they needed to move on and wished them the best of luck. He had already talked to the players about their new Def. Coor. Not a very classy move by Catlett. Coach Cummings has West moving in the right direction and would have welcomed Catlett moving on one day to be a head coach again if the chance came. Catlett seems to not care about burning bridges. Coaches talk and Catlett, from what I understand, has put reputation on the line for the worse too many times in the last few years.

Catlett is at webb. he may be teaching somewhere else but he can still coach at webb. Two defensive coaches for webb teach at a different school but coach at webb. Catlett was the d-cord in 1997 at webb where they became state runner-ups. That was when they played BGA in the finals. BGA had a running back named Troy Flemming if uv ever heard of him. Troy flemming rushed for 9,442 yards in high school the second most all time in the nation. The Score was 19-7. Catletts not at bad coach at all. After that he left to coach at carter.

It can be possible for Catlett to teach somewhere else and coach at Webb. Their is another teacher at Clinton that teaches their and coaches Football and I believe Softball at Webb.

My other half tells me that Coach Catlett is most definitely coaching at Webb this fall, but he will not be teaching there - just coaching.
