BigDon
If these ranking are based on last years records and this year's scrimage results, why is USJ listed and JCS not? JCS drilled McKenize in pre-season scrimage but I guess that doesn't count.

VolunteerGeneral
From the Jackson Sun... Hardin County starts the season at No. 2 after a 9-3 campaign last season. The Tigers lost quarterback Wes Bouterie and eight other starters to graduation. Bouterie was a first-team member of The Jackson Sun's All West Tennessee team last season. So, why is Hardin County the No. 2 team in West Tennessee? The answer is Tyler Lorenz, a kicker. Yes, a kicker. Lorenz gives coach William McAdams a scoring option that most teams don't have. ''We won three games because of him,'' McAdams said during a recent practice. ''North Side, Dyersburg and McNairy we all won on field goals.'' Bouterie was a very good QB last year. But he is gone. The Jackson Sun puts Hardin County at #2 based on their kicker???? When you have to win a game with a late FG to Beat Northside it`s not saying much for your team. I apologize for my earlier remark about the Sun sports staff smoking dope. I now think they are on crack. JMO. I guess we`ll see. But I think the Sun dropped the ball on their top 10 list. Bulldog Fan #2
I agree with the Stangs at the top spot. I also think Hardin Co shouldn't be in the top 10. Milan is probably ranked a little high but time will tell.

TennesseeGator
Lexington will be 4 real this year. Scores from last year don't mean a thing. Looks like Hardin County's big win may silence some critics for a little while.
TheBoredGuy
Not really. Memphis Northside isn't exactly a true test. Next week will show us how good Hardin Co is.

And the Sun played it up in the preview Thursday, but you both caught them after they were hit hard with the injury bug. When you beat a full strength USJ, come back and crow a little, not after getting them while they were down. Don't get me wrong, it tickled me to no end seeing you both beat them, but you had the advantage over those of us who had the misfortune of meeting them at their strongest early in the season. Good luck to all the 7-1A teams this year. Congrats to USJ for knocking off Southside last night. See ya in Linden next Friday.
VolunteerGeneral
In the Sun`s list of top 10 teams in West TN, they have Hardin County listed #2. However if you saw their high school preview magazine in Thursday`s paper, they predicted Hardin County to finish 4th in the region.
