Chattanooga Central @ Tyner

After a week off, I think the pounders will be up for this one. This is turning out to be a good rivalry due to the closeness of the schools. Tyner does not have a size advantage this year but does have alot of speed. I do not think that will be a factor because Central has just as much. Central needs to leave Jameel Hambrick at QB because he makes plays. This definatly should be a good one this friday.

Can anyone tell me the real reason why Nick Tanner left Tyner this year and transfered to Lakeview Ft. Oglethorpe. I heard rumors why he left but if someone in the know has any info, i would appreciate it.

...If team speed was the "only" factor that counted, it probably would be an outstanding game...if the weather is good, we should see a few "big" plays...looking at last years game(when Central was 4-0) when the "hype" was because of the players involved, the difference this year( in my humble opinion) is depth at the "key" positions...on paper, the offense of both teams look to be even, Central has Hambrick, Hacker, Woods, and the RAMS counter with Craddock, Jones,Rutley and White.

...My question is: who does Central have playing as back-up to these skill position players???...This game will be won(just as in 2003) by the DEFENSE!!!! Which defense can stop the others offense!!!

...Not going to make any predictions but win or lose, I'll definitely make an analysis after the game is over!!!!

Tyner will win this game, but it may be closer than you think.  Central has some really good athletes, and can play with anyone in their region.  Yes, they're having a not-so-good year, but they have the ability o upset anyone on their schedule.

This one's going to be high scoring!

...I realize you can't compare games on a week-to-week basis(much less year-to-year), however, I thought Central had much better athletes in 2003. I will admit that I haven't seen them this year and I know you have, therefore I'll take your word and expect a well played game on Friday...here is how both teams have fared after playing four(4) games:

Central's offense averaging 21.0 pts and defense giving up 24.0 pts.

Tyner's offense averaging 35.0 pts and defense giving up 17.0 pts.

Strength of Schedule: a slight edge to the RAMS

I agree with Grad. This game will be much closer than you think. Most people haven't really seen Central with their new QB, but this kid has the potential to be the real deal. He has given them the ability to throw the football, as well do they still have their running game. I think they will keep it close, but I still find it hard to believe that they can pull of a win against the Rams. They are just to talented.

Tyner - 35

Central - 26

    • I am going to assume you are not a lawyer, and most reasonable lawyers would not say the lawsuit has a zero percent chance in court. I agree with you that a coach has the ability to dismiss anyone from a team. However, Ms. Winfree was never presented with the opportunity to present her witnesses and have them tell the coaches and administrators what they heard. A lawyer could better explain the lawsuit and the grounds to you. Before you start making wild assumptions about the lawsuit, would it be too much to ask that you do a little legal research first? The lawsuit is dealing with due process, loss of property, and defamation.   You can read the lawsuit here: https://bdnewsletter.files.wordpress.com/2024/04/doc-1-complaint-filed-4-18-2024.pdf
    • The administration took the path of backing the coach and whispering to people that the kid was a problem. The reality is that the kid was never a problem on a team or classroom. The player says she has witnessed who back her not saying the f-word.  Why did the coach make that story up and other stories? I am not Sigmund Freud and do not have an answer for the ex=-coach's behavior..
    • I think they have they coach they want close to being done. I guess we will all see how this plays out. I hope the hire a good one. There are some players in the box for the next coach to work with.
    • Going to grundle Troy Fleming?
    • I agree I don't think it will go to trial either, but I feel like that will be because no judge would deem this to warrant a law suit... If the school board settles, they loose and all coaches and schools loose too.
